Communicating With Angels Or Are They Really Demons (Fallen Angels)?

“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:” – 1 John 4:1-2

According to the scriptures, angels are indeed real. They have interacted with humans and continue to do so today. For example, two angels of God rescued Lot from the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah (Gen. 19:13, 24-25); an army of angels helped Israel in war in 2 Kings Ch. 6; angels helped Jesus Christ in the wilderness and the Gethsemane temptations; there were angels present at the tomb where after Jesus was resurrected (John 20:1-2,12); an angel actually stirred up the water in a pool called Bethesda (John 5:4); angels assisted the early church (Acts 10:22; 12:7); and there will be an angel that will proclaim the everlasting Gospel in the future (Rev. 14:6). The bible is replete with many more examples of angels interacting with humans. So there is no doubt angels are real and active in the physical world.

Perhaps the influence of angels in this world is more profound than we can ever imagine. One noted theologian commented, “Both as communicators and as guardians, their work is ordinarily unnoticeable, and not until we get to heaven shall we know how much we owe to it.” In my life, I believe I have encountered angels in the form of humans to send me a message (though I am not absolutely certain they were really angels). My experiences reminded me of the scripture that we should not forget to entertain strangers because we may entertain angels (Heb. 13:2).

But not all angels are good. The Bible reads there is a vast number of wicked angels (Rev. 12:3-4,7-9). About one out of three of all the angels that fell are malicious (Rev. 12:4), and seek to deceive and destroy humanity (1 Pet. 5:8; Rev. 12:9); the angels that fell are the angels that followed satan in their rebellion against God. One example of their deception is the fallen angel in the Garden of Eden who deceived Eve which led to the fall of the entire human race (Genesis 3).

A plethora of cults was started or nurtured by “angelic” contact. For instance: Mormonism, the Jehovah’s Witnesses, Islam, the Swedenborgian faith, Anthroposophy, and the Unity School of Christianity were all initiated or influenced by angels. But they were obviously not angels of God, even if those religions claim to be Christian because their revelations are fundamentally antibiblical. Since the Holy Spirit knew fallen angels can communicate with humans He gave us this warning: “But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed” (Gal. 1:8).

The fact some angels are evil means that one should have spiritual discernment considering the Bible reads the devil deceives the whole world (Rev. 12:9). Demons are impersonating good angels for the purpose of spiritual deception, theologically and philosophically, and also so they can easily oppress and possess people via the guise of New Age concepts such as “higher consciousness,” “profound” angelic contact, and “union with God.” The enemy, most of the time, needs an open door to enter into a person’s life. The desire and commitment to contact angels or spirits by inviting them into one’s life are all that is needed.

Just like in the New Age, Roman Catholics seem to have a penchant for focusing on angels. The Catholic church actually teaches one should have devotion to one’s guardian angel. The Bible doesn’t command or even suggest that people should put any focus on angels, to do so can be tantamount to idolatry. There is not one Bible scripture that commands anyone to contact angels, whether it is the archangel Michael, the archangel Gabriel, or any other angel at all. The Bible is clear one should only pray to the Father (Matthew 6:9-13) or Jesus Christ (John 14:14).

What prompted me to make this post is that I came across a web page about a woman who channels angels who have many followers. I did a search on YouTube about this topic and to my dismay, many people are involved with contacting angels.

Melanie Beckler is deceived and is deceiving many.

Reading some excerpts from the webpage:

They are invisible and cannot communicate directly with humans, so they speak through Beckler to announce themselves:

“Greetings, dear one. Indeed I, Archangel Raziel, am here.”

Nothing changes about Beckler when she speaks as an archangel, other than her voice slowing to a somber cadence. But it’s clear that she is inhabiting some other space as she guides her supplicants through meditations intended to boost their psychic abilities. “Love is the way you heighten your gifts and abilities, by turning away from the doubt and fear that you’re not psychic, for you are,” she – or, rather, Raziel – assures. When she closes meditations, the serene presence disappears, replaced by a bubbly 33-year-old with sparkling brown eyes and a smile straight out of a toothpaste commercial. Melanie is back.

“Okay, awesome!” she beams. “And thank you to Archangel Raziel for guiding that exercise!” Beckler is so beautiful, so genuinely joyful, so inviting that she probably could sell toothpaste, or anything she wanted. But what she’s chosen — or as she tells it, what chose her — is of a much higher order. Melanie Beckler teaches people how to talk to angels.

Human beings are fearful, frustrated creatures and so we have long comforted ourselves with the idea that heavenly bodies not only exist but intervene in our affairs. The 2007 Baylor Religion Survey, the only study that has examined these beliefs, found that sixty percent of Americans “absolutely” believe that angels exist, and another twenty percent say they “probably” do. Over half reported being protected from harm at least once by a guardian angel. Accordingly, we stuff our books, movies, plays and televisions full of them.

But narratives from the Bible all the way on up to “Supernatural” misunderstand how the angels work, according to Beckler: We don’t have to wait for celestial beings to intervene, because they’re all around us, all the time, eager to share their guidance for putting humanity on a path toward peace and light, one person at a time. The problem is that, without the right training, we have no hope of hearing their messages. “I’ve always had this underlying feeling that I was meant to do something big here in my life,” Beckler tells me, “and then the angels gave me a new process of how to trigger the vibrational attunement required to channel them, and told me to share it with other people.”

The process is called the Angel Solution, a $37-a-month membership unlocking a steady stream of blog and video content that, Beckler says, passes through her directly from the archangels during daily communications. She is far from the only person to offer spirituality in this vein; there are hundreds of YouTube channels devoted to angel therapy, the generic term for this sort of work, and dozens of people offering courses on channeling via platforms like Udemy or their own sites. But Beckler is one of the most prominent, and the only one who operates entirely online. Nearly a million people have downloaded her free messages, and 34,000 have paid anywhere from $7 to $17 for premium ones. Just under a thousand turn in the monthly dues, the highest level of commitment to the Angel Solution.

But it still never fully made sense until the angels finally broke through in 2008, as Beckler sat meditating under a tree one afternoon. A “pure love vibration” surrounded her and revealed itself as the archangel Michael, she says. “The message was about working together” – her and the archangels, of which Michael told her there are thousands – “to empower people.” Her path snapped into focus.

It wasn’t a huge success initially: Beckler’s site fielded 1600 visitors and 150 downloads a month in its infancy. Now, though, Ask Angels gets over 650,000 daily visitors and a thousand downloads a day. It fuels a powerful machine for sharing angelic content with her followers across Facebook (just shy of a million fans), Instagram (41,000) and Pinterest (19,000). She also sends a daily email linking to Ask Angels that lands in 210,000 inboxes between 7 and 10 a.m. Mountain Time every weekday. On June 21, the message nudged readers toward a $47 package of Solstice Light Activations”specifically designed to help you make the most of this Solstice Gateway of light” – which opens on the summer solstice, a sort of metaphysics Christmas – “so you can consciously expand your awareness and tap into the new codes of awakening and crystalline ascension light.”

With guided meditations making up the core of the Angel Solution, users can reasonably expect to improve their focus, sense of calm, and overall mood, as they might with any mindfulness practice. But other than referring occasionally to “prosperity” or “health” Beckler is careful never to promise any empirically measurable outcomes from her methods, focusing instead on improvements like “vibrational energy,” “frequency” and the aforementioned “light” estimable only by individual users within themselves. A now-disappeared version of the disclaimer on her site states that “the term ‘healing’ is only a name and [does] not mean to convey the literal meaning of the word… all products [are] for entertainment purposes only.” And although fans regularly post suggestions to consult with angels about horrific world events, like sending “healing energy” against the Trump administration’s border terror, Beckler herself never wades into politics. “I do feel like humanity is at a point of growth, but I never would tell anyone that there’s only one way,” she said. “The angels believe that the way we change the world is not some big external event, but more and more individuals stepping into our power and being of service.”

New Age movements have always been like this — focused on the individual over the community, on personal transformation over interpersonal relation. Their growth, says University of Wales religions professor Bettina Schmidt, “reflects a rejection of institutions – with so many scandals in churches and authority figures, people do not want to be told what to do. They want to find their own belief systems and develop the authority themselves.”

Most of Beckler’s followers have been on a path toward autonomous spiritual authority for years before they find her. They span in age from teenagers to 75 year-olds and are primarily women, but not exclusively. In descending order of density, they hail from the US, Europe, India, the Philippines, Australia and a dozen other countries. Their only universally-shared trait is a longtime interest in the metaphysical.

Like her claim that anyone can can channel angels with the right “vibrational attunement,” she also believes that anyone with enough drive can join her in being a spiritual entrepreneur. She has written multiple blog posts on how to do it. In one, she gently reminds readers that “making money as a spiritual blogger is a byproduct of being of service.”

She is hesitant to share specifics about the byproducts of her own service, but a conservative estimate of her monthly gross income, based solely on the number of Angel Solution subscribers, is somewhere in the tens of thousands of dollars. “I’ve looked at spiritual leaders all around the world, and collecting money is more common than you’d think,” Schmidt, the religions scholar, said. “People often see the fee they pay as an indication they will get something out of it.”

I asked Coffman, Beckler’s teacher, how channels justify monetizing something that they universally describe as a gift. Why, if the angels want everyone on Earth to transition to a path of love and light, do they tell their emissaries to wind that path through capitalism? “People have come to me and said they’re broke, and I reduced or eliminated my fee entirely. They don’t listen or use the information, and they often get angry and blame and shame,” she tells me. “It’s unfortunate, but I guess somewhere in their mind they’ll say, If it were worth something, I would have had to pay for it.“

The devil can masquerade in any form (2 Cor. 11:14).
I can assure you the angels Beckler is in communication with are not the angels of God but are demons masquerading as benevolent beings. Indeed, the Bible reads satan comes as an angel of light (2 Cor. 11:14). I can almost 100% guarantee if Beckler repented and turned to the Lord Jesus Christ the angels that are using her for their own ends will turn against her. The fact she makes money from the service of these entities alone should raise red flags.
That said, here are several signs to look out for to help discern if the angel is of Jesus or not.

Signs an Angel is a Devil

1. They Will Teach Paganism.

They will teach basic pagan, New Age beliefs, including Hinduism, occult practice, pantheism (all is God, God is all), or monismuniversalism, and that Christ dwells within all people, irrespective of faith in Him.

They will say things such as “all religions worship the same God”; “our souls remain in a pure state of innocence”; “consider the possibility that ultimately everything is true”.

Their teachings seem to be of a relativistic worldview: “You may think that there is only one truth; yet we, your angels, suggest that all of you have your own truth, your own interpretation of divine law. No one way is right or wrong”.

2. The angels will distort the Bible or will deny the Bible altogether.

These “angels” make blatant errors in terms of Biblical theology. Godly angels would not distort the Bible nor would they deny the teachings of Jesus Christ. Yet these New Age angels do it routinely. Some examples are: “God is the totality of your living experience”; “God is life. You and God share the same bed, the same car, the same glass of water. You and God are one”.

These so-called angels distort the greatest commandment given by Jesus to love God above all else (Matt. 22:37-38), they have said what it supposedly really means: “Start with the first and greatest commandment, which is to love the Lord Self with every particle of feeling you have…”

3. They will try to possess you.

Evil angels will deceive people into their own demonization. They will say something like to “accept Christ” is to accept the “angel” inside and to allow it to you possess you. Channeling is a form of possession, and people like Beckler channels angels. Nowhere in the Bible do people channel angels.

Spirit possession is a universal phenomenon in pagan cultures throughout history. With the modern New Age movement, the occult, Eastern religions, channeling, and now this popular angel phenomenon, spirit possession seems to be increasing in the West.

Biblical, or godly, angels possess no one. There is not one scripture where an angel possesses or inhabits the body of a person. Demons, however, have a long history of possessing people.

4. Evil angels will support the occult.

One of the most dangerous things is to get involved in the occult. It is perhaps the easiest and fastest way to get demonized. These bad angels will promote necromancy, or contacting the dead for divination, and occult magic.

bks-angels-terry-lynn-taylor-56afbb5f5f9b58b7d01c5aa1.jpg
I wouldn’t touch such books with a ten-foot pole.

In some “angel” literature people are encouraged to use mantras, mandalas, shamanistic vision quests, contacting one’s power animal (a spirit guide who appears in the form of an animal), manipulation of chakras, and psychic healing. They also support New Age medicine and occult holistic health practices. None of this is biblical.

5. “Angel” morality is not consistent with the morality taught in the Bible.

Some of these “angels” have endorsed illicit sex (e.g., homosexuality, lesbianism, adultery), abortion, divorce, and virtually any degenerate thing one can think of. Godly angels would reflect the holy and good character of the Father and Jesus Christ. The Bible reads Jesus loved righteousness but hated iniquity (Heb. 1:9).

6. These “angels” will boost a person’s ego or self-esteem.

Given that satan, the devil is full of pride, self-centeredness, and self-aggrandizement, it is not a surprise that he would be full of self-love (if you can call it that). The self-love philosophy that has spread throughout our culture is demonic or carnal.

One “angel” once taught people must learn to esteem and love themselves above all else, even above God Himself.

Consider the following message provided by the “angels”: “All that God is, I AM…. I AM divine purity…. I AM perfect love,… I AM the peace that goes beyond understanding,…. I AM omnipotent…. I AM perfect judgment…. I AM the only supply, … the I AM THAT I AM… for I AM the joy of the world.” However the teachings of Jesus Christ is that people were evil, not good, and not divine (Matthew 7:11), and that is why people need a Savior (Matthew 1:21).

7. “Angels” will often speak the same ear-tickling drivel as modern Christian prosperity teachers.

For example, they will say things such as “True abundance is the ability to see the abundance that is already ours” or “I harness the power that enables me to realize all of my desire and objectives…. I have the power to know what is best”

They will also support and endorse positive confession teachings.

8. “Angels” speak about divine “energies,” which are just demons masquerading.

As in the occult, various “energy” concepts are emphasized in popular angel literature to rationalize possession as mere contact with the “forces of nature” or something like it.

9. Using occult or New Age methods to contact these “angels”.

Meditation is a common method to contact these supposed good angels. Other popular methods of contact are typically those found in the world of the occult such as altered states of consciousness, visualization, developing psychic abilities, divination, drug use, magic ritual, “positive mental affirmations” and so on. Many of these “angels” will also encourage automatic writing, dictation, or speaking in order to get their message published and spread somehow.

Tarot or Oracle cards are not promoted in the Bible but are promoted in the New Age.

Ouija boards or the like can possibly open the floodgates for evil spirits to come through.
49025845_2447241718625941_6724338224686170112_n.jpg
This is no different from an Ouija board which is an abomination to God.

On YouTube, I saw people contact “angels” through tarot cards, or oracle cards, a pendulum, and an Ouija angel board. All of these are tools of divination and divination is an abomination to God (Read Deuteronomy 18:9-12). The spirits communicating with people through such methods are surely evil spirits.

10. They use New Age terminology or phrases.

They will use buzz words such as “energy forms,” “chakras,” “universal energy,” “self-love,” “God’s energy,” “higher consciousness,” “vibrational energy,” “frequency,” “divine,” “ascension,” “divine self,” “higher self,” “attunement,” “empower,” “mindfulness” etc.

11. Some of these bad angels are environmentalists.

They will teach the sacred importance of the environment and how people must be concerned with the earth, whom they may call Gaia, as their spiritual parent. This is a form of idolatry.

The “angels” who spoke through one angel channeler said, “The larger level of healing we speak of involves healing the relationship between your spirit and the spirit of the Earth…. Planet Earth has a life purpose, as you do…. Your desire to seek a deeper exchange with Nature encourages her spirit and further balances all levels of life…”

12. These supposed “angels” act more like modern spirit guides.

Godly angels don’t hang around a person like a pet dog that is at your beck and call. No one in the Bible conjured up their angel and communicated with it like he is Casper the friendly ghost. Biblical angels, however, would deliver a message and then would disappear.

13. They will point to “angel numbers”

Those involved with these so-called “angels” may have seen repetitive groupings of numbers such as 222, 333, or 444. You may see them on a clock or license plate. It is not uncommon for people who were involved in the occult or New Age to see such things. These so-called angels will distract people with number groupings and try to make people think angels are near, protecting, and guiding them because they see a certain number grouping like 444. This is a deception of Satan’s Kingdom.

14. The “angels” will never point to the Lord and Almighty God Jesus Christ for salvation.

According to the Bible, all good angels worship the biblical Jesus (Heb. 1:6). If Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life, and the only way to the Father (John 14:6) then why aren’t these supposed angels promoting Him for salvation? How come these so-called angels never teach the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ (1 Cor. 15:4)? A good angel would indeed preach the Gospel (Rev. 14:6). The Bible makes a harsh statement when it reads “But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed” (Gal. 1:8).

If you are being oppressed or attacked by demons because of your involvement with communication with fallen angels, then feel free to contact me for deliverance prayer.

If you don’t know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you can receive Him into your heart, and He can deliver you from darkness and sin and have your name written in His Book of Life.

If you are sincere, you can say this simple prayer to the Father (it doesn’t have to be word for word):

“God, I recognize that I have not lived my life for You up until now. I have been living for myself and that is wrong. Please forgive me of all of my sins just as I forgive others. I need You in my life; I want You in my life. I acknowledge the completed work of Your only begotten Son Jesus Christ in giving His life for me on the cross, I believe in my heart Jesus is Lord and was raised from the dead and I long to receive the forgiveness you have made freely available to me through this sacrifice. Come into my life now, Lord. Take up residence in my heart and be my king, my Lord, and my Savior. From this day forward, I will no longer be controlled by sin, or the desire to please myself, but I will follow You all the days of my life. Those days are in Your hands. I ask this in the Lord and GOD Jesus’ precious and holy name. Amen.”

  1. I wish I had known all this many years ago.
And now, I hope those who have fallen for these lies will see this article, in fact see many articles on your blog and not only salvation through OUR LORD JESUS, but also learn how to discern through what you are doing here.
Thank you for spreading the truth, may GOD bless you!

One quick question, if we are not supposed to pray to angels, then why am I able to purchase prayer cards for Archangel Michael, Raphael, and Gabriel at the local Catholic Basilica (and it has statues of them in it, etc.)? I’m super confused and want to make sure I am not doing something wrong when I purchase these items.

Vertel me eens waarin uw opgelegde “gebedje” (zie hieronder)
Kom nu in mijn leven, Heer.
Graag feedback ! Dank u bij voorbaat.

I definitely believe that an individual needs to be cautious about what you let into your life, people, organizations and spiritual influences. But if you read closely this post about angels, you will notice that the author has basically put down everybody else’s belief in this world but their own brand of Protestant Christianity and a narrow slice of that I might venture to guess. All things are Gods creation and under God’s command and organized religions of all stripes like to create God in their own image. I’ll stick with my own best understanding and relationship with my creator, and leave Melanie Beckler and this particular biased author to their own Karma.
