A Christian Perspective on Alleged “Chakras”

If you’re going to get your chakras cleansed, you might as well get your aura cleansed as well since neither chakras nor auras exist. Yet Yoga and its asanas are based on belief in chakras, and many alternative remedies incorporate chakras. Holy Yoga, taught in many churches, gives credence to chakras.

Any reactions or experiences with a belief in chakras are not from the true God. If you deliberately seek out ways to open, cleanse, balance, or heal chakras, you invite deception and darkness into your life, even as a Christian. These beliefs dim the true light – the light of Jesus Christ who is utterly hated and opposed by the angelic majesties behind the system teaching chakras.

The chakras are allegedly invisible wheels of energy that start at the base of the spine and ascend to the top of the head (though some do not think the top point is a chakra). Yoga asanas and meditation are supposedly opening and cleansing the chakras for the energy coiled at the base of the spine (Kundalini).

The role of chakras in the raising of the kundalini, a power coiled at the base of the spine:

“Then we have a sacred force of energy — the coiled kundalini (frequently represented by the image of a serpent) that for most of us lies dormant, at the base of our spine or sacrum. So with serpent coiled and sleeping at our base, the practice of Kundalini Yoga starts to unlock that door and ever so slowly, our personal serpent starts to slither its way up through the Chrakras, waking up and igniting them one by one (hence the term ‘Kundalini rising’) until it reaches the top, the crown Chakra, attaining deep levels of meditation, self-realization, empowerment, and enlightenment.” From https://goo.gl/uQ2YQC

More information on Chakras:

A Sanskrit word meaning ‘wheel’ used in Hindu beliefs and practices, such as yoga, to describe what are believed to be the five, six, or seven (depending on the teaching) psychic and spiritual centers of man. The chakras are invisible, and are believed to start at the base of the spine and end in the middle of the forehead. The top of the head is the culmination point for an energy called kundalini which rises through the chakras to the crown of the head through certain meditation and tantric practices. (Some sources which include the crown area state there are seven chakras). A different color is often associated with each chakra, usually red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo/purple, and white for the crown. The kundalini is believed to be a form of divine energy, coiled at the base of the spine like a serpent which can rise through a channel, called the Sushumna, up the chakras, thus bringing a spiritual awakening. It is taught that arousing the kundalini up through the chakras can be dangerous and should be done under the supervision of a teacher or guru. It is also taught that awakening the kundalini may uncover certain psychic powers called Siddhis. Buddhism, Hinduism, and Western views may differ in their teachings on the chakras. Chakras may be equated by mystics and occultists with the spheres from the Kabbalah’s Tree of Life. Chakras are often referred to in some New Age meditation practices and philosophies, and in some forms of energy healing, such as Therapeutic Touch. Alternative healing often assumes the existence of chakras and connects ill health to blockages in the chakras.==From http://goo.gl/abd7hR

I have heard of some Christians who even believe in chakra cleansing and healing. What is chakra cleansing? To get an idea, see excerpt below from a site about a workshop on cleansing chakras:

“In this class you will:
– Learn about the functions of each Chakra
– Guided Meditation for cleansing each of your Chakras
– Receive your Healing Crystal for each chakra for FREE
– Cleanse, charge and program your Healing Crystal
– Meet your Healing Crystal and start a healing connection
– Shop Crystals to start your own collection
– Choose a goal you want to bring forth in your life
– Crystal Singing Bowl Meditation with Crystals
– Release obstacles and old patterns to manifest a self-actualized reality!!” From http://goo.gl/w3TkrU

Chakras are considered pure energy and stem from the spiritual belief system of Hinduism. There is no scientific evidence for chakras.

“It is important to understand Vitalism and the concept of a life force or life energy since it is the root of many these beliefs, especially those that claim to heal. Vitalism attributes a divine power to creation instead of to the Creator God, or it views God’s power as accessible in creation, or God is seen as the energy or force itself. In all cases, the life force itself replaces God, is identified as God or as the healing power of Christ, or is equated with the Holy Spirit. This force is unquantifiable, invisible, and non-measurable.

The principles of Vitalism match the pagan views of chi, Prana, Kundalini, Mana (energy in pagan Pacific Island cultures), and the forces used in occult healing.

…. The “Vital force” or “life force” is a foundation for the original principles of Homeopathy, Chiropractic, Naturopathy, Bach Flower Remedies or Flower Essences, and many other alternative healing modalities. Vitalism was a popular notion in the 1800s and early 1900s and undergirded many alleged purported healing techniques now classified as alternative.” More at http://goo.gl/cCc0S7

If you don’t know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior you can receive Him into your heart and He can deliver you from darkness and sin and have your name written in His Book of Life.

If you are sincere you can say this simple prayer to the Father (it doesn’t have to be word for word):

“God, I recognize that I have not lived my life for You up until now. I have been living for myself and that is wrong. Please forgive me of all of my sins just as I forgive others. I need You in my life; I want You in my life. I acknowledge the completed work of Your only begotten Son Jesus Christ in giving His life for me on the cross, I believe in my heart Jesus is Lord and was raised from the dead and I long to receive the forgiveness you have made freely available to me through this sacrifice. Come into my life now, Lord. Take up residence in my heart and be my king, my Lord, and my Savior. From this day forward, I will no longer be controlled by sin, or the desire to please myself, but I will follow You all the days of my life. Those days are in Your hands. I ask this in the Lord and GOD Jesus’ precious and holy name. Amen.”

Do you not know what a Spirit consists of? Do you not know that Christianity is rooted in Second Temple Judaism? Don’t you know Kabbalah, the mystical tradition of Judaism? The tree of life, chakras? Do you know how many times Jesus mentions light, enlighten, single eye, Spirit? Jesus said he’d send the comforter, the Holy Spirit. If you wanted to connect your Spirit to God Spirit, Divine communication, how do you think you would do this? Jesus was killed by the Romans because he taught the truth. The Romans then decided what went into the Bible. You are worshipping a False God created by the religion that the Romans created. Jesus said you are Gods. Jesus said it is the Spirit that saves. He didn’t die for you, he was killed! Jesus said you are the church. Jesus said the kingdom is within in you. The same power that Jesus obtained, the Chrīstós! That is why he was called Jesus the Christ. He was spiritually enlightened, connection to the Divine.

He willingly laid down His life so we have salvation in His free will loving sacrifice. There is no other name on which to be saved.

What a small-minded perspective. It’s also funny that you would label something that out-dates Christianity as “new age”. The mental and physical benefits of practicing yoga are indisputable and you don’t have to stop being a Christian to practice. Ok, you can go back to your cave no…

No. The Bible. Read your Bible [THE ENTIRE THING] study it. Then return to the comment section of my brother/sisters in Christ. There are many exuses not to believe in Jesus. But Unconditional love once you experience that it changes you and your heart is no longer hardened. Fools will not take words of wisdom though. Not my words the Bible. It is full of greatness whoever wrote it. Research the originals. Learn Hebrew and Arabic so you can understand the depth of the literal yet poetic way about the Bible. Who are you? One who has ears to hear? I hope so. Other choice is being a fool or wicked. I pray for your unity with God, Jesus, & the Holy Spirit he imparted to us after being a holy living perfect sacrifice for us man. Like we GET to receive this good and perfect gift and all he asks is we love him above all else and love one another as we love ourselves. I pray you love you, so you can practice loving others & that you would find a passion about learning all about the Bible what it says and the hopeful message of even the book of revelation. In Jesus name I pray you forgive me of any hostility it’s my inclination to protect my family especially my eternal ones. This person is being a great disciple of God by creating this thread and information. If you do t agree. Well then that’s for you to go get lost in on another page. We are called to be vigilant of to not practice pagan rituals and this is one of them. I used to teach yoga and still do but it is through a Christ centered fitness nonprofit ministry. I know I am building up my treasures in heaven and I do t get that icky feeling in my spirit that I may be leading my friends and family and other acquaintances of my classes down the path that leads to death. I’ve been deep into my Bible last two years and it’s transformed my entire perspective, attitude, and position in my heart towards those who have worldly hardened hearts and pick anger instead of live because life is hard for all so bitterness will get even the BEST OF us. Except Jesus; so He deserves our reverence and to check with Him and His word to see if this that or the other will serve us and bring us closer to Christ and our walk closer through this habit. I speak the name of Jesus over you and this post Amen

I don’t think chakras belongs Hinduism Kundalini is an old template.i think chakras are energy point all human have them.i think it has a link to seven seals in the bible.

This is all fine. I believe that you can find healing wherever you can as long as you know Jesus and don’t want to leave him. You don’t have to join any religion to use the energy points.
Most of everything I’ve read here is satanic panic.
They are on a witch hunt and don’t know what they are talking about here.
Your not going to become possessed by using chakras unless you want to be possessed. You also don’t have to use chakras inorder to become possessed.
There’s an electromagnetic field around everyone it consists of photons and electrons. It’s why you soft and not solid. Energy points are in you and you don’t have to believe it if you don’t want to. If you need healing and can’t walk it will help you and it’s not evil unless you want it to be. I wouldn’t worry if you love Jesus and this is the only way you can find help then don’t be cripple. Believe in Jesus and find healing.

“But the [Holy] Spirit explicitly and unmistakably declares that in later times some will turn away from the faith, paying attention instead to deceitful and seductive spirits and doctrines of demons,”
      ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭4‬:‭1‬ ‭AMP‬
If it doesn’t say it specifically in the Bible or through the context in the Bible I wouldn’t be inclined to believe this on just an” I think”. Don’t get me wrong please, it’s just your precious spirit, soul, body, and life that (anyone) may be opening (them)selves up to , negative spirits and demons. If we do not recognize this and repent by accountability by, the Holy Spirit, our knowledge of the word of God, by spiritual guidance by mentors or other brothers and sisters in Christ and continue down this dangerous “I think” it means, instead of, “this is what scripture says” so this is what “I know “to do about any situation. Fellowship, guidance, and wisdom must be sought on our own. Seek the truth and it will find you. ““ Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find; knock and keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you.”
      ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭7‬ ‭AMP

I don’t think this chakras spinning wheels belongs to hinduism. all human have it & Kundalini in Hinduism is a very old template.that no longer resonate with bible or higher conciousness

    1. jciloataf

      I like your insight.
Some stuff to say here. The new age is really old age. It comes from 4700 years ago at the tower of babel. There was an outreach to the gods from the nephilim who were fallen angels.
Chakras aren’t mentioned in the Bible but we have seven major glands that God created that corresponde to the Chakras.
I’m tired of this satanic panic nonsense like if you rub in between your eyes at the penial gland or pituitary gland you have awakened kundalini spirit and now the devil is alive.
These pastors don’t know what they are talking about.
The only thing is that all the new agers are doing this as a religion so that means if you rub your head you’re lost without God well this type of thinking hurts almost as bad as not being able to walk and I’m stuck in between all of this and I hate it. I opened my chakras and I can’t find anywhere in the Bible that I sinned. I didn’t pray to any God or goddess or change my belief in Jesus christ and I’m not pursuing this as my new way of believing so I think this is satanic panic.

      1. Livingsacrifice

Not that the practicer is lost but that any kind of sin leads to death if you resonate with chakras bring it to God and check the validity of belief in bible and spiritual guidance Councelor(s) in whom you trust their insight and wisdom. Pray about it. I pray for your revelation on this in Jesus name. Any foothold we give the devil can let the door open to other “open minded” “tolerance” mindsets that also are harmful. Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad and easy to travel is the path that leads the way to destruction and eternal loss, and there are many who enter through it.”
        ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭13

Don’t know if chakras are BS or demonic, but I do know I’ve never met a new-ager or a westerner into eastern mysticism that I respect because inevitably they are dominated by the spirit of self-worship.

I respect your points. I do believe that the “seven”chakras or channels of the soul are there. In more research they have said that there are many as 93,000 channels. I see it as the science of the soul…they are trying to map this template of our souls…demons attach to all types of channels in our souls. The truth is we don’t know exactly what we need. But what I do know is that we can actually rely on the Holy Spirit, to fill those voids in our lives. Christians need to know the operation and science of spiritual warfare!! Play your singing bowls unto Him. David says play the high sounding symbols. But make this about your connection with Jesus! I believe all the new age goal is to engage in self worship..there is no Jesus there. But feel empowered to use sound and music to His glory! He said if you won’t praise Him, the rocks will praise Him!

Witches feed people things like ashes of the dead often from birds. They attach energies and they put holes in the electromagnetic field around the person. A field of photons and electrons. Then they cast spells with negative energies that go through the holes in the field. This can cause accidents to occur or psychosis or health problems and disease that cause death. It’s far more prevalent than people think affecting millions of people and witches that have developed evil craft can manifest this. This is all done in secret within their covens.
People underestimate this. Christians don’t know of this they don’t teach witchcraft in church. They read and sell the gospel message in corporate gain and people think that because they go to church and believe that nothing can harm them. They get sick and think it’s God’s will they aren’t healed. If they lose their minds it’s because of inherent genetics and they don’t know that their family line has been cursed. They pray to break family curses showing great emotional theatrics and some find help but most don’t and they are viewed as having a lack of faith or some other excuse they think could be the problem but they refuse to accept that they have been victimized either directly or through their family line.
Why do I know of this?
