There is a myriad of things demons abhor, scorn, and despise, such as evangelism — the spreading of the everlasting Gospel. What else are demons not fond of? Since satan’s kingdom is propelled by hate, they are certainly not pleased when we have agape love for one another, and truly forgive others from the heart. However, in this post, the several things listed the enemy strongly dislikes or has an aversion to will be more related to the context of deliverance.

Why does it matter what demons detest? Quite simply, because they hate you with a passion, and their goal is to kill, steal, and destroy you (among other sinister things). Needless to say, you would want to do the opposite of what they want you to do.
1. The enemy hates the Biblical Jesus and the name of Jesus

Isn’t this an obvious one? Demons themselves feared and trembled when Jesus was in their presence (Mark 1:23-28; Mark 5:1-20). Even by merely invoking the name of Jesus, demons will still tremble. The name of Jesus is after all the name above all names (Phil. 2:9). It is only by that name demons are cast out (Mark 9:38; Luke 10:17; Acts 16:18). Our authority is only in His name (Mark 16:17; Acts 4:30; Luke 10:17). I never witnessed demons truly expelled out of people by any other name but the name of Jesus.

Ever wonder why out of all the names people use to say in vain it is the name of Jesus? There is apparently something satanic behind it. There is power in the name of Jesus! The enemy knows it, and that is why he uses his children to blasphemy it.
If you are being attacked by the enemy, rebuke it in the mighty name of Jesus! Invoke His name with faith and authority!
2. The enemy hates the shed blood of Jesus

God demonstrated His love for us by sending His only-begotten Son to die for sinners (Romans 5:8). As we walk in the light, the shed blood of Christ cleanses us from all sins (1 John 1:7). It is by the precious shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ we can be redeemed and have forgiveness of sins (Eph. 1:7-8). Of course, the enemy would hate the shed blood of Christ. The Son of God didn’t die for fallen angels but for fallen man.
One scripture reads, “… they (Christians) OVERCAME him (Satan) by THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death (Rev 12:11). Claim the blood of Jesus over you!
3. The enemy hates praise music
Not surprisingly, they hate praise music, and they hate it because it brings the presence of the Holy Spirit. The Bible reads God inhabits the praise of His people (Psalms 149:4-9). Of course, we should not praise and worship God for the sake of aggravating or opposing satan’s kingdom (we do it because God is worthy), but doing so is engaging in spiritual warfare. Take time daily to worship and praise God with all of your heart and soul! Do it in spirit and truth. Amen!
I believe at least some demons were once involved in praise music before they rebelled against God. I once prayed for deliverance for a woman where the demon spoke through her mouth, and lamented that it used to be an angel, and sing for God [Video on Youtube]. Perhaps praise music angers satan’s kingdom as it reminds them of the position they once had in heaven.
That said, beware of watered-down Christian music or music labeled as Christian that is not really Christian. I believe the enemy has a huge influence in a lot of music, even some Christian music to an extent.
4. The enemy hates the Word of God
The Bible reads God’s word is like fire and a hammer (Jer. 23:29). It also reads “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword….” (Heb. 4:12). How did Jesus respond when He was tempted in the desert by satan after fasting 40 days? Jesus quoted scriptures back to Satan, and Satan had nothing to combat Jesus’ strategy. Satan was completely defeated in that battle. Imitate what Jesus did: fight demonic attacks with the accurately applied Word of God. You should know the Word… Believe the Word … Know when to accurately apply the Word. It may be helpful to speak the Word of God out loud, sing scripture songs, and use the Word in prayer at the demons you think are around you are in you. I would even play an audio Bible all night if you are dealing with serious demonic issues.
Stand on God’s Word because God’s Word is truth (John 17:17), and it cannot be broken (John 10:35). Jesus said “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away” (Matt. 24:35; Mark 13:31; Luke 21:33). God’s Word will never fail. It is impossible for God to lie; therefore God’s Word cannot lie.
I notice when praying for deliverance for people the demons seem to have a stronger ‘grip’ on the person when the person yielded to their lies. Some people who are dealing with demonic attacks will hear voices in their head (or get thoughts) saying such things as that they can’t be forgiven and are worthless, God doesn’t love them, they should commit suicide, or do this or that or the other. The voice would even pretend to be God. Don’t believe their lies. Whatever thoughts the enemy projects into you, reject it! Rebuke their lies in the name and authority of Jesus! But how would you know if the thoughts were of God or the enemy? You test it with the Bible of course — the standard of truth. Esteem God’s Word more than your necessary everyday food.
5. The enemy hates holiness and repentance
The Bible reads that without holiness no man shall see the Lord (Heb. 12:14). The Bible in fact many times gives commands to be holy (1 Pet. 1:15; 2 Cor. 6:17; 2 Cor. 7:1; Rom. 12:1).
When you live a holy life you are not grieving and quenching the Holy Spirit. The enemy desires Christians to be lukewarm, to be tainted by the world, and to live according to the flesh. This is part of the reason why demons want to keep people weighed down with addictions. They relish when a person is wallowing in sin. It will slow your walk with the Lord.
To my shame, there were times in my Christian life when I fell into temptation and gave into sin. I would actually feel the Holy Spirit in me grieve. Though I know God never left me, I distinctly felt the Holy Spirit quenched. That closeness with God would be diminished. That is what the enemy wants — for Christians not to be filled with the Holy Spirit and be on fire for God.

When one is dealing with demonic attacks, especially demonization, it’s really important to keep your armor of God strong and intact. Confessing and renouncing your sins, and not living in sin will greatly help.

I have come across many people who were seeking deliverance, and I would pray to cast the evil spirits out, but they wouldn’t leave. A lot of times these people were still bound by certain sins — especially the sin(s) that opened the doors to be indwelt by evil spirits. I noticed those who are really serious about living holy for the Lord and hate sin, the demonized person is more likely to get delivered with deliverance prayers, as opposed to those who are still holding on to sin in their life. I emphasize resisting sin, especially for a long period of time, and the demons are more likely to leave when prayed against. That’s why the enemy will throw a lot of temptation at some people going through deliverance. For instance, if a person was struggling with sexual sins, the enemy will probably be seduced by a sexy person in a dream. Don’t fall for it. The enemy wants sin to be your ruler, not Jesus. The Bible is clear: submit to the Lord and resist the devil, and He will flee from you (James 4:7).
6. The enemy hates prayer
I strongly suggest developing a strong, consistent prayer life. Things happen in the spiritual world when we pray. There have been incidents in my life where I would be deep in prayer, and I can actually discern the presence of evil spirits gathering in my environment trying to oppose me by distracting me. Apparently, they hate it when I devote quality time of prayer to the Lord. Whether you know it or not, you are involved in spiritual warfare when you are involved in prayer.
How much time do we take out of the day to get into the secret place praying to God? Jesus wanted Peter to pray for at least one hour (Matt. 26:40). Can we at least do that daily?

Also, it is worth noting that the fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much, or is effective (James 5:16). In other words, God is more attentive to earnest prayers and those not living in sin (1 Peter 3:12 ). Just another reason the enemy hates holiness. Pray earnestly, and never give up praying even if you think your prayer hasn’t been answered. Jesus Himself taught to persist in prayer and never give up (Luke 18:1-10). Moreover, when you pray, make sure to forgive others so that the heavenly Father will forgive you (Mark 11:25). The enemy can be behind holding a grudge or bitterness towards someone which can hinder an effective prayer life.
7. The enemy hates when one fasts before the Lord

Fasting can be a powerful tool in a Christian’s warfare arsenal. I shared this experience elsewhere, and I will share it again here. Years ago I fasted against an evil spirit that was constantly attacking me through sleep paralysis. I kept rebuking it but it kept returning. I then resorted to fasting. This was my first time getting involved with a fast. I didn’t eat anything for 4-5 days. When the fast ended, the evil spirit showed up in my bedroom. I didn’t see it in the natural, but I knew it was there. It was communicating to my spirit with fury and rage (I sensed it) saying “why did I fast against it”? It stopped returning soon after. Indeed, it is true what Jesus said: some demons won’t leave unless you pray and fast (Matthew 17:21 KJV).
Fasting can also help with breaking strongholds. A lot of Christians are bound by sins whether it is masturbation or pornography addictions, anger issues, or something else. Fasting can help break that chain of bondage.
A heads-up: don’t be surprised if you go on a long, heavy fast before the Lord, strangely people start offering you food.
If you don’t know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior you can receive Him into your heart, and He can deliver you from darkness and sin and have your name written in His Book of Life.
If you are sincere you can say this simple prayer to the Father (it doesn’t have to be word- for-word):
“God, I recognize that I have not lived my life for You up until now. I have been living for myself and that is wrong. Please forgive me of all of my sins just as I forgive others. I need You in my life; I want You in my life. I acknowledge the completed work of Your only begotten Son Jesus Christ in giving His life for me on the cross, I believe in my heart Jesus is Lord and was raised from the dead and I long to receive the forgiveness you have made freely available to me through this sacrifice. Come into my life now, Lord. Take up residence in my heart and be my king, my Lord, and my Savior. From this day forward, I will no longer be controlled by sin, or the desire to please myself, but I will follow You all the days of my life. Those days are in Your hands. I ask this in the Lord and GOD Jesus’ precious and holy name. Amen.”
Playing the audio bible makes a big difference as you sleep. However, I’ve never played it al night. It really helps though. Thank you for these tips. We need this kind of knowledge to overcome and be all that God planned for us to be. Amen.

Demons hate the name Yeshua because that is the name of the Messiah in the Bible.
Apostle Peter a.k.a Simon was never in Rome. However, Simon the Sorcerer a.k.a Peter was in Rome and founded a religion that is based on selling salvation. From what I understand, Constantine then officially established the pagan religion of Universalism that became Catholicism. He then conjured up the name Jesus to represent his pagan religion. If the spirit behind Jesus supplanted the name of the true messiah in the Bible, Yeshua, then Jesus is an ant-messiah or antichrist spirit.
