In this post, we focused on black magic. Occult healing was addressed here, but it was more so in the context of various African cultures. Here we are going to focus on white magic, which is purported to be even more widespread than black magic, mostly within the context of the Western world.

White magic has several applications, it supposedly can reverse curses (it really can’t), bring love, find a good job, improve ‘luck’ with money, or succeed in business. The focus will be on white magic that deals with supposed healing or cures.

Apologists for the practice of white magic or occult healing may say they are practicing goodness and benevolence – that they do not cast spells to harm others. However, magic in any form is the work of the devil. The Bible is clear that Satan disguises himself as an angel of light (2 Cor. 11:14).

The late Christian theologian Kurt Koch, who had over 40 years of counseling experience related to the occult noted:

“The customs of charming, bewitching, enchanting, becharming, casting spells, using sympathetic magic, conjuring and so on, are widely used as popular occult methods of ‘curing’ people. And it is not just a matter of some harmless customs being practised by unsuspecting students of folklore, as the rationalists would suggest. Charming means treatment by magic. The practice of magic is a matter of sorcery… Sorcery utilises demonic powers and is hence blasphemous.” (The Devil’s Alphabet, 28)

One Pastor said “‘in the light of his great knowledge of occult healing methods, said, ‘90% of all healers, mesmerisers and magnetisers use demonic and occult powers. One must be absolutely certain with whom one is dealing before accepting treatment from such men. A person must not be blinded by the religion trimmings.'” (The Devil’s Alphabet, 80)

White magic is practiced in all parts of the world:

“Magical charming is practiced throughout the whole world. Taking examples from every continent, I could produce about fifteen hundred cases of charming.” (Occult ABC, 135)

The two sources of power:

There are only two sources of supernatural power in the world: One is from the living God of the Bible and the other is from satan. Spiritual healing can either be legitimate or illegitimate – that is, either divine or demonic. We see that there is a divine gift of healing that God may give to some of His people (1 Cor. 12:9,28,30) but there is a demonic counterfeit.

The devil does have the power to “heal” or “cure” but it comes with a price. Christian Author Merrill Unger wrote:

“…when demons help heal physical diseases, they exact a price either in some type of occult oppression or psychic disturbance in their victim or by causing him to fall prey to error and false doctrine.

Physical healing, when not according to God’s will and for his glory in answer to prayer but effected through demonic spirits, always has Satan’s costly price tag attached to it. Satan merely shifts the malady from the physical to the mental or emotional. The victim often falls into doctrinal errors of the cult in which the healing occurred. When black magic is used with demonic help, the practice of healing and causing diseases merely fosters satanic cunning and effects no real deliverance.” (Demons in the World Today, 155-156)

Examples of Magic or Occult “healing” and its Consequences

As with all forms of sorcery or witchcraft, if you get involved in charming you are opening up to demonic infestation. Consequently, demonic occult subjection affects the character of the person concerned. As a result of sorcery, one can be plagued by fits of temper and fury, quarrelsomeness, avarice, and a domineering personality. Getting into the occult is also a breeding ground for “mental illness.”

The following are several examples of those subjected to torment by demons (though they may not have known demons were the root cause of their torment) because of the practice of charming or have received “healing” from charming:

“A girl was charmed at the age of three. As far back as she can remember, she has suffered from depression, suicidal thoughts, self-tormenting ideas, and numerous accidents. In one year, she had three concussions. Her brother, who was also subjected to a magic charms, suffers from the same mental disorders. He is unruly and afflicted with suicidal thoughts. He has finally developed a compulsion to kill children in the name of God.

Not all compulsions, of course, have an occult background. But in about one-half of the compulsive neurotics I have counseled, I was able to detect occult activity in the past.” (Occult ABC 137-138)

“A man went to an occult charmer in Herisau, Switzerland. The treatment he received led to the cure of his organic symptoms. But since then the patient has suffered from depression. At night he hears knockings and rattlings and sees faces and mutilated figures.” (Occult ABC, 138)

“A woman had been to see Hugentobler in Switzerland, when she was a girl, to be treated by magic. Hugentobler wrote out a pact in which she sold herself to the devil. The woman had to sign it, then tear the paper up and drink it with water. The result was that she was healed. But ever since she was suffered from anxiety nervousness, depression, and suicidal thoughts.” (Occult ABC, 139)

“A woman with an organic disorder had it charmed, and as a result had a rapid recovery. But from this time on psychological troubles set in, especially disturbances of perception in the form of acoustic hallucinations. She heard and saw spook apparitions, which plagued her for many years. Finally her life ended with an unusually severe death struggle.” (Christian Counselling and Occultism, 130)

White magic can be under a religious disguise:

“An evangelist became ill and went to two healers who were reputed to be Christian men. After the treatment, he was afflicted with strong depressive and sexual temptations, which led him to seek my advice. These men were thus not Christian healers and charmers, but occult charmers working under a Christian disguise.” (Occult ABC, 138)

“A young man went to a charmer to be treated for infantile paralysis. The cultist gave him an amulet to put around his neck and advised him to put a pair of scissors and a Bible under his pillow. The charmer also wrote him out of magic charm and instructed the boy to place it in his Bible. The paralysis was cured, but the boy hanged himself at the age of sixteen.” (Occult ABC, 138-139)

“…. a German brought up in Russia came to me and laid his heart bare. He said that his parents had been Christian people. They had no church in the village where they lived in Russia, but his father used to hold home Bible studies, to which many Volksdeutsche came. One day the son got sick. There was no doctor for miles in any direction. So his mother got him to kneel down. She placed her hands on his head, recited a magic charm and the three highest names, and he was healed. It was not until long afterwards that he discovered that it had been a charm from the Sixth and Seventh Book of Moses [an occult book].

What the mother had done was not a Biblical prayer, as laid down in James 5:14, but magic. She had misused the three highest names as a magic charm on her own son. Now the man had come to me for counseling. He told me that his whole life was suffering as a result of this charm. Although his father had been a believer who held fast to the bible, he, the son, could not come to terms with the Word of God and with Christ. Every area of his life became disordered. He had no control over himself where alcohol was concerned, and he did other things which cannot be mentioned here. It was only when he encountered my lectures and my books, that he realized he had been under severe occult influence, as a result of the magical cure. He repented, confessed all his sins, and in the name of Jesus Christ declared himself free from this spell cast by his own mother.” (Occult ABC, 139-140)

“A woman came to me for counselling. In spite of a confession she was unable reach an assurance of salvation. Since her inability to believe resembled the type of resistance one meets in the case of occultly subjected people I asked her about her past. She told me the following story. Her mother had had all her children charmed whenever they had been ill. The children had had to cross their arms while the mother had repeated a magic spell in the name of the Trinity. I asked about her other brothers and sisters and she said they all suffered from depressions and had sexual troubles. Sometimes they wanted to become Christians and they would pray a great deal about this; at other times they would go the other extreme and reject Christianity altogether. Her sister once said to her, ‘I’m under an evil spell.’ It was then that I was able to show this troubled woman the way to Christ and to explain to her everything relating to the overcoming of the effects of occultism. She went home and after battling all night in prayer, by the grace of God she was liberated. She came and saw me a few days later and in her joy told me how she had been delivered, adding that she had never been so happy in all her life.” (The Devil Alphabet, 134-135)

“A fifteen-year-old girl had a disease of the eyes. She spent quite a time in an eye clinic, but in spite of the treatment she was not cured. Since medical help had failed, she turned to a magic charmer. This man, using white magic, made some spells over her. The man actually attended church occasionally and he also kept a Bible in his consulting room. Within 24 hours of the charming the girl’s eye trouble disappeared, but thereafter she felt a terrible inner unrest. She prayed but found no peace. Later, when she visited her former eye specialist, he could only shake his head in astonishment and ask her how she had been healed.” (Between Christ and Satan, 74)

Descendants of Charmers are Affected

As we have read people who come under the curse of sins of sorcery are frequently plagued with illnesses of every sort. Of course, we must not attribute all maladies or diseases to occult causes, but if one was involved with sorcery or parents or grandparents were involved in it then it is something to consider. Indeed, the practice of charming is known to open one’s descendants to demonization [more information on generational curses].

Koch wrote:

“Families in which charming is practiced, whether actively or as a patient, are literally pursued by misfortune. Suicide, murder, serious and incurable diseases, and many other troubles abound in such families.” (Occult ABC, 135)

Examples of people affected because of their ancestor’s sins:

“A  missionary and his wife came to me for advice. The missionary’s brother heard voices and had compulsive ideas. The doctor’s diagnosis is schizophrenia. The family history revealed that both the grandfather and great-grandfather were magic charmers…..” (Occult ABC, 275)

“A woman came to me for counseling. She complained of the disintegration of her family and her marriage. Her husband would sometimes rage and roar like a bull, and then he would become quite sensible and normal again. He had already spent some time in a mental institution. His grandfather had been an active magic charmer.” (Occult ABC, 276)

“In a city in Santa Catarina, Brazil, a couple brought their son to me. He was suffering from sclerodactylia. His fingers were stiff like claws. The skin of his hand was rough and hard and was gradually peeling off. The muscles were also affected. Even the bones were atrophying. The parents had heard my addresses and thought that I might be able to give some advice. I asked about the family history and was told that both grandmothers had been charmers. Doctors who know nothing of spiritual process will laugh at the suggestion that these facts are connected. And yet one frequently finds that incurable skin diseases appear in families whose forebears have practiced sorcery.” (Occult ABC, 280)

“Another example shows the nature of an hysterical, or psychically caused disease. A woman came to me for an interview. She had had one disease after another. First it was a lung infection, then an inflammation around the kidneys, then a compulsive neurosis. Finally it continued so far that she practically went through the whole medical textbook, one disease following another. Her medical history was a typical pattern of hysterical illness, or of illness resulting from psychic associations. Her family history revealed that her grandmother had been a card-layer who had also had her children and grandchildren charmed. In a case of this sort, medicine can offer no deliverance. It is a spiritual problem.” (Occult ABC, 280-281)

“A man of 42 told me the following story in the course of counselling. His greatgrandfather had cured animals by casting spells over them and he had also been able to prevent epidemics. He had charmed his children when they had been ill using the name of the Trinity with some bacon rind which he had then buried next to the house. The prescription had always seemed to work and the children had always got better. However, the greatgrandfather’s descendants had suffered some awful after-effects. His children and grandchildren had all been burdened and several of them, although wanting to become Christians, found it impossible to do so. Some of them exhibited mediumistic abilities including clairvoyance and cryptesthesia. Others became morally depraved, and four grandchildren have very strong sexual tendencies. They want to marry but are unable to do so. Also ghosts have been seen in the house. The man himself who was telling me all this also felt the curse of not being able to marry. He had been engaged to a girl but had broken off the engagement.” (The Devil’s Alphabet, 29-30)

“A 28-year-old woman came to be counselled. For five years she had been in continual pain suffering from eczema. The skin specialists could find no cause for the illness. I asked her if her family had had any contact with occultism. She said it had, explaining that her grandfather had been able to heal animals and people in the name of the Trinity. Her grandmother had also been a charmer. Two of her sisters lived dissolute lives. The woman herself was gifted with second sight and had prophetic dreams. She had once seen her brother-in-law in a dream and he had said, ‘I am coming home tomorrow.’ Sure enough although he had been in Algeria he returned home the next day. On another occasion she had a dream in which some black hands had come towards her and some black rats had started to eat her legs. Next morning her sister came and for no reason at all began to quarrel dreadfully with her. The eczema then appeared on her legs and it proved to be incurable. The woman willingly allowed herself to be led to Christ. She confessed her sins and through faith accepted forgiveness. I prayed with her. She said next day that the terrible pains in her legs had disappeared after we had prayed together.” (The Devil’s Alphabet, 31)

“In a pastoral interview concerning his mental disturbances, a man reported the following experience: ‘There was no doctor in our village. My great grandmother was versed in all kinds of absurd healing crafts, especially in charms. She was the much sought ‘village doctor’. She was moreover regarded as a pious woman, since in her charms she used the names of the Trinity. Although she had a charm for every disease of man and beast, she was unable to control the psychological sufferings of her own posterity. From her own children down to her great grandchildren, an enormous variety of psychological disorders to be observed.” (Christian Counselling and Occultism, 131)

Sorcery is Known To Ruin a Person’s Faith

Going to charmers is also known to ruin the faith of a Christian. Also, those who are not Christian who have been charmed may find it to be a struggle to become a Christian:

“When I was in Thailand once, a missionary told me the following story. One of the elders in his church injured his hand and subsequently developed blood-poisoning. The infection spread extremely quickly in the tropical climate. A dark-red, almost black streak started moving up his arm. however, since the nearest field doctor lived considerable distance away, the native Christian hesitated somewhat before going to see him . When he did finally visit the doctor, the dark streak had already reached his shoulder. The startled man was told immediately, ‘You must go to the hospital. That arm will have to be amputated, otherwise you’ll be dead by the morning.’ The church elder was taken by jeep to the hospital and the surgeon confirmed what the doctor had said. The arm had to come off if he wanted his life to be saved. The poor rice farmer replied, ‘But I need my arm. How will I be able to look after my rice fields without it?’ A terrible battle started raging within his heart. It was then that he remembered an old Hindu sorcerer who it was claimed was able to heal people by means of mysterious powers. Although the elder knew from the missionary that it was forbidden for Christians to consult with sorcerers, his despair drove him on. It turned out that the Hindu was by no means a fake, for his magical powers really worked. The blood-poisoning was halted, and the arm was saved. But the resulting effect in the native Christian’s life was that he ceased attending the meetings of the church and gradually slipped back into heathenism.

An example like this clearly contrasts the difference between rationalistic and mediumistic remedies. Where reason comes to an end, the occult can sometimes still supply an answer. Yet the overall effects are well-known. The church elder had to forfeit his relationship with God.

For years I have witnessed the truth of this fact, that magic and almost all other occult practices either destroy the Christian faith of a person or just prevent it from developing. And yet one finds that there is no conflict between sorcery and all the other world religions. This does not mean that magic is more powerful than the Christian faith. No, it merely shows that those who occupy themselves with occult practices are in fact contravening the laws of God.” (Occult Bondage, 17-18)

“A man who had been charmed on several occasions in his youth later married a Christian girl. Although he himself went to church at times, he had no real personal relationship with God. His young wife soon realized that her husband had no real desire to pray together with her, and had little interest in living the Christian life. On account of this she formed a prayer group which continued to pray for her husband for a number of years. In the end, at a certain mission, he was suddenly awoken to his need and he came to see me after one of the meetings. A terrible battle immediately commenced during which time he thought he was almost going mad. He had no peace either day or night, so much so that he even tried to commit suicide. Yet in spite of taking enough poison to kill three people, his life was saved, and in a subsequent counselling session he asked me, and in a subsequent counselling session he asked me, ‘Why can’t I become a Christian, because I really want to?’ As I questioned him further, it came to light that he had been charmed as a young boy.'” (Occult Bondage and Deliverance, 34)

The following is a case where demons retaliated against people who were involved with sorcery and then turned to the Lord and God Jesus Christ:

“Brazil is the country in which I have had the greatest number of sessions with people oppressed through spiritism. This is because Brazil is one of the world’s strongholds of spiritism. In the region of Ponta Grossa, a woman came to me for counseling. She had been a member of a spiritist group for eighteen years. Then she left it, because she had a complete lack of peace and wanted to find Christ. Since making this decision, she had suffered from disturbed sleep and depression, and still could find no peace. One thing she confessed was that she possessed a ‘letter from heaven,’ and that she had been charmed against an illness as a child. In addition to all her emotional disorders, she had an inexplicable skin disease, which no skin specialist had been able to cure.

It may frequently be observed that people under occult influence suffer from skin disorders.” (Occult ABC, 280)

The following is an example of the enemy corrupting a person’s character who was subjected to sorcery:

“A young woman is a charmer. Her little boy has continually had spells cast over him as a protection against illness. By the time the boy was eight years old he started to developed a terrible temper. He used to torture animals to death or kill them by burying them alive When he reached the age of thirteen he became a notorious drunkard. Today he drinks up to fifteen to twenty pints of wine daily. His sexual life has run wild and he has sexual relations with animals. The minister of his village traces all the defects in his character back to the charming he received from his mother.” (The Devils Alphabet, 29)

Proof the spirit behind white magic is not of the living God but a demonic spirit is when one comes under the protection of the Lord and God Jesus Christ

“Another of my friends, an evangelical minister, told me of his experience with a certain mesmerizer. The mesmerizer had had some remarkably successful cases of healing over the years. My friend actually witnessed the healing of a girl who had been crippled from birth. The mesmerizer had healed her through magnetically stroking the illness away. When the minister and his son were both taken ill he resolved to consult the same mesmerizer. He first asked the man, ‘Is your gift a gift of God?’ The man replied that it was. The minister therefore allowed both himself and his son to be treated. The mesmerizer did not touch either of the patients but merely made stroking movements along their spines at a distance of about six inches. While this was going on the minister silently prayed, ‘Lord if this man’s power is from you then bless his efforts, but if it is not from you then protect us both.’ After the treatment there were signs of improvement. A few days later they went for a further session with the man but he refused to treat them saying, ‘You’ve got a different spirit.’ The minister now knew what he was up against and he dispensed forever the treatment.” (The Devil’s Alphabet, 79)

“…. a Christian woman told me the following story. A lady missionary belonging to a German society opened her home to a healer who was in the habit of going to Bible studies of a Christian Fellowship group, and was therefore regarded as a believer. From near and far, members of the Christian Fellowship came to be treated by this Christian healer. My informant herself took several people from her Fellowship in her car to see this brother. On the way she prayed somewhat like this, ‘Lord Jesus, if this man does not work by Thy power, protect me from him.’ They all came in turn to be treated in the man’s consulting room. When my informant entered the room, the healer looked at her and ordered her to leave his consulting room at once, with the comment, ‘I cannot do anything for you.’ That was the answer to her prayer. She warned the missionary that she was harboring an ungodly man in her house. The missionary was very angry at first, but then agreed to pray about it. The effect of intensive prayer was that, without having to be given notice, this healer and charmer left the house; because he could no longer stand the spiritual atmosphere.” (Occult ABC, 138)

“A man with tuberculosis of the bones had the disease charmed away using white magic. After the charming the pains immediately ceased. The man himself practiced various forms of magic. He also kept many books on magic at his house, as for instance The Seven Locks of Heaven, The Blessing of Tobias, The Letter of Protection from John, Chainletters, and Lucky Letters. He even carried letters of Protection from John, Chainletters, and Lucky Letters. He even carried letters of protection like these around with him sewn into his clothing. One day, in great anguish of mind, he tried to become a Christian. But he could not pray. He wanted to trust in Christ but at the same time he felt a violent antagonism within himself towards Christ and His Word. In this state he came to be counselled. In the process he handed over his books on magic and afterwards experienced a definite relief and a relaxation of his previous mental condition.” (Between Christ and Satan, 91)

But the Lord Jesus Christ, who defeated satan on the cross, is infinitely more powerful. The following is a powerful testimony of how Jesus redeems from those subjected to the bondage of magic:

“I was brought up in a family which continually turned to the occult world when sickness or disease raised its head. Although the men we consulted practised under the names of mesmerizers, nature healers, spiritual healers and so on, and although they disguised their work behind a cloak of religion, in reality they relied upon magic charming to achieve their results. The majority of them were very prosperous in their lucrative business, and some even had a name for being practising Christians. Yet the enlightened would have had no difficulty in seeing they derived their powers from the devil and not from God. It cannot even be said that they rely upon neutral forces of nature, although this is what they would like people to believe. No, they work hand in hand with the powers of darkness. I have seen too much of the effects of their work to be persuaded otherwise.

For thirty years my own father practised magic healing himself. He could use his powers on animals and humans alike. Many people used to come to him for help and often only a letter or telephone call was necessary to bring about the required result. This type of healing is going on all over the world and it is not always just a matter of suggestion or hypnotism, but magic and demonic powers also play a part. The effects of my father’s charming were visible in our family, and our home was characterized by quarrelling and frayed tempers. In spite of this, after my father’s death I endeavoured to learn the art of healing which he had possessed. I was fascinated by the whole idea, and the thought of lording it over people was high in my mind. Because of my contact with my father and the mediumistic abilities that I had already received from him, success came quite quickly to me. At first I used to practise on the rest of the family and later I turned my attentions to our relatives. The more successful the charming was, the more I was filled with pride.

But I too could not avoid the effects of dabbling in magic. Quite unexpectedly I had a nervous breakdown. I had to give up my job and for weeks sat at home doing nothing at all. It was then that God started to speak to me. At this time I met a man who was also acquainted with the idea of magic charming. He warned me of the dangers of contact with occultism and questioned me about my own background with regards to magic. I had to confess that the effects had already appeared in my own life, but in order to defend myself I said that all I wanted to do was to help my fellow man, and that I encouraged people to accept their healing as a gift of God. The man explained to me, though, that in doing so I was really blaspheming, and treating God as a servant rather than as my Lord. He went on to say that the devil would be behind my work as it is he who seeks to deceive people by this form of blasphemy.

At first I rejected his argument. I could not believe that what he said was true. But his warning remained with me and later I discovered that he had continued to pray for me. And so the battle had begun. My wife joined me in this struggle and finally I was prepared to forsake my magic. But this was easier said than done. I wanted to leave the magic behind me but discovered that by now it held me in its grip. I was a prisoner. We continued to pray and read the Bible together with our children, and in this way sought God’s help in our lives. I then had to go into hospital for a serious operation but the strain of the conflict delayed this for just over three weeks until the surgeon thought that I was strong enough to go through with it. The operation was a success and I recovered very quickly and returned to my family. I was filled with joy and thankfulness by this experience.

We were one step nearer to victory. But the battle was not yet over. One day I was reading the passage in Acts 19 where it is written, ‘And a number of those who practised magic arts brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all.’ Now I saw what I had to do and so collecting together all the magic books that I had we burned them.

But there was one last area in which we had to gain the victory. My life had become filled with swearing, anger, selfishness, alcohol, smoking, cards, and other unmentionable things, while my wife had been plagued by depressions and similar magical effects. Through the presence of Christ in our lives this last victory was won. My wife was delivered from her depressions, and God worked in my own life freeing me from the habits that had previously held me captive. We had together experienced the truth of Luke 19:10, ‘The Son of Man came seek and to save the lost.’

The Lord’s deliverance had a great effect on my life and I determined that if Christ had helped a great sinner like myself, then he could use me to tell others of the salvation that we can all have in Him. It thus became my aim to reach others who had been bound in the same way as myself, whether consciously or unconsciously. It became obvious to me in my subsequent work to what depths modern man is involved and ensnared by occultism. Yet in spite of this the Word of God remains true: ‘Where sin increased, grace abounded all the more.’ The final victory for ever belongs to Jesus Christ our redeemer.” (Between Christ and Satan, 167-169)

The following is another testimony:

“Some years ago a young woman came to me for counseling. She was covered from head to foot with a dreadful skin disorder. I asked her how she ever got married in such a condition.

‘This skin disease disappears now and then for a few months,’ she replied. ‘Then it comes back again.’ She has spent thousands of dollars going to skin specialists. None has been able to help her. I asked her if any of her forebears had practiced sorcery. She said, ‘Yes my grandfather produced charms for cattle and spells against disease, my father had learned these arts from the grandfather and had likewise practiced them for years.’ And now she had this terrible skin disease which tormented her for years, driving her to despair. I showed the young woman the way to Jesus Christ. Her dreadful plight moved me greatly. I wondered if I ought to pray with her along the lines of James 5:14. I had some reservations about this, since her disease was a result of her father’s and grandfather’s sins of sorcery. I asked a believing pastor, a friend of mine, what he thought about it. He was ready and willing and bold enough to lay hands on the woman and pray. He did so only as far as her disease was concerned, not in connection with the occult involvement. We both put ourselves under the protection of Christ, and then we prayed with the woman, laying our hands upon her, that she might be healed of the dangerous skin disease. I then left the area. Eighteen months later, I met the pastor again and asked him how the young woman was. He replied with a beaming smile that since our prayer for her with laying on of hands, she had been free of this terrible skin trouble. The woman had God. Here Christ has set up a trophy of His victory. We are not simply abandoned to the power of Satan. There is a place where we can attain victory in the name of Jesus.” (Occult ABC, 282)

And yet another testimony of the power of Jesus:

“A young woman was being treated magically for an organic disease. The unqualified doctor used a pendulum to determine which medicine to prescribe. One day this magician told her that within a few years she would be paralysed. In fact after a year or so the woman actually developed symptoms of paralysis on the right side of her body. Her arm and part of her leg became insensitive and immovable. At the same time she found it impossible to pray or to read her Bible, and a strange fear took hold of her. After a complete confession, however, I prayed over the woman according to James 5:14. The paralysis disappeared from that moment.” (Between Christ and Satan, 51)

The Strong Biblical Condemnation Against Sorcery

Every sin associated with sorcery cuts a person off from God and turns him towards the worship of the devil. And those who serve the devil will receive the devil’s wages. Every form of sorcery is, in fact, a contract with the powers of darkness. As we have read the devil will accept a person’s involvement with sorcery as a right to keep him captive. One is opening up the door wide open for the enemy to come in when involves himself with sorcery. And those who have been involved with sorcery which allowed demonic attachments, the enemy will retaliate against the person at the first hint of his having to lose his victim when he repents and turns to Jesus.

Innumerable Bible scriptures clearly read that sorcery and occultism are abominable sins to the Lord and a forsaking of the living God:

“Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery [witchcraft], hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”(Gal. 5:19-21)

“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” (Rev. 21:8)

If you don’t know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior you can receive Him into your heart and He can deliver you from darkness and sin and have your name written in His Book of Life.

If you are sincere you can say this simple prayer to the Father (it doesn’t have to be word for word):

“God, I recognize that I have not lived my life for You up until now. I have been living for myself and that is wrong. Please forgive me of all of my sins just as I forgive others. I need You in my life; I want You in my life. I acknowledge the completed work of Your only begotten Son Jesus Christ in giving His life for me on the cross, I believe in my heart Jesus is Lord and was raised from the dead and I long to receive the forgiveness you have made freely available to me through this sacrifice. Come into my life now, Lord. Take up residence in my heart and be my king, my Lord, and my Savior. From this day forward, I will no longer be controlled by sin, or the desire to please myself, but I will follow You all the days of my life. Those days are in Your hands. I ask this in the Lord and GOD Jesus’ precious and holy name. Amen.”
