“The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.” — Numbers 6:24-26
“Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.” — Psalm 42:11
“To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.” — Isaiah 61:3
“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” — 3 John 2

If you are suffering from heavy depression, it can be demonic.
The Bible reveals that a spirit of heaviness is real (Isaiah 61:3). It is believed that it seeks to oppress and depress people, making one feel despair, sadness, and hopelessness.
Regarding Christians, I have noticed that when one lives in sin, it can lead to great depression and despondency. In such circumstances, I will say that it is most likely attributed to the demons. For instance, a Christian sister contacted me in tears because she was extremely depressed and felt hopeless. She relayed to me that she was fornicating (she was the one who tempted him to do it) with her boyfriend for at least a year, smoking cigarettes, and even went to a tarot card reader for relationship advice. Things in her life, especially concerning her relationship, were falling apart. After we prayed, renouncing her sins, I prayed for deliverance for her. Sure enough, several evil spirits manifested and left via vomiting.
Living righteously can be protection from such an attack.
If you are suffering from depression or heaviness, even if you don’t think it’s demonic, you may want to say the following prayer.
Prayer Against Depression
Father God, please come to my rescue. Deliver me from all the anxiety and depression that is inflicting me. Take this heavy weight off my soul and spirit. Please lift and remove the darkness over me. Turn my downcast into gladness. Have my head lifted. Give me the encouragement to face the world.
Father, have me put my hope in You from this day forward. My eyes will be on You and Your mighty power. Your praise will be on my lips, and I will remember that You are my Savior. I humbly come to You to seek Your help. I turn to You and not to myself. I want to trust you in everything. As I hand over to you all of my burdens, please give me Your rest. Please give me Your peace, love, and wisdom. Please give me hope and encouragement.
Father God, please have it be that I put all my hope in You. Have my eyes be on You and Your might. Let my lips praise You and thank You continuously.
Please erase all the disturbing thoughts and replace them with godly, wholesome thoughts.
God in heaven, I seek Your rest and peace. I declare that Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son, is the Lord of my life. It reads in Your word: “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). I ask for the peace that You say that You will give according to Your word. It reads that “the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7).
Father God, please lift me out of this pit and bring me into Your awesome light. Shine your awesome light upon me. Have Your hand of mercy and grace be upon me.
In the mighty name of Jesus, I bind the strongman and all demons and evil spirits behind my depression and suicidal thoughts. God in heaven, thank you for your kindness. Please give me the oil of gladness. May my countenance shine and be radiant by your Holy Spirit. Have the light of Christ shine through me.
Have it be that I worship and honor You in spirit and truth. I want to love You with all my mind, heart, soul, and strength.
Thank You, Father, in Jesus’ name, that I am set free from every evil work. I praise You that the joy of the Lord is my strength and stronghold! Hallelujah! Amen.
