God is a Man of Sorrow and Acquainted with Grief

How mind blowing is it to know the Creator of the universe grieves, weeps, and has sorrow?

Genesis 6:6 And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.

Isaiah 63:10
“But they rebelled and grieved His Holy Spirit;
So He turned Himself against them as an enemy,
And He fought against them.”

Psalm 78:40
“How often they provoked Him in the wilderness,
And  grieved Him in the desert!”

John 11:32-36
“32 Then, when Mary came where Jesus was, and saw Him, she fell down at His feet, saying to Him, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.””

33 Therefore, when Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who came with her weeping, He groaned in the spirit and was troubled. 34 And He said, “Where have you laid him?”

They said to Him, “Lord, come and see.”

35 Jesus wept. 36 Then the Jews said, “See how He loved him!”

Isaiah 63:10
“But they rebelled and  grieved His Holy Spirit;
So He turned Himself against them as an enemy,
And He fought against them.”

Ephesians 4:30
“30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.”

Isaiah 53:3-4
“3 He is despised and rejected by men,
A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
 And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
4 Surely He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
 Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
S mitten by God, and afflicted.”

Jeremiah 9:1
“Oh, that my head were waters,
And my eyes a fountain of tears,
 That I might weep day and night
 For the slain of the daughter of my people!”

Hosea 11
“8“How can I give you up, Ephraim?
How can I hand you over, Israel?
How can I make you like Admah?
How can I set you like Zeboiim?
My heart churns within Me;
My sympathy is stirred.
9 I will not execute the fierceness of My anger;
I will not again destroy Ephraim.
For I am God, and not man,
The Holy One in your midst;
And I will not come with terror.”

Hebrews 5:7
[Speaking of Jesus]“7 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;”

If you don’t know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior you can receive Him into your heart and He can deliver you from darkness and sin and have your name written in His Book of Life.

If you are sincere you can say this simple prayer to the Father (it doesn’t have to be word for word):

“God, I recognize that I have not lived my life for You up until now. I have been living for myself and that is wrong. Please forgive me of all of my sins just as I forgive others. I need You in my life; I want You in my life. I acknowledge the completed work of Your only begotten Son Jesus Christ in giving His life for me on the cross, I believe in my heart Jesus is Lord and was raised from the dead and I long to receive the forgiveness you have made freely available to me through this sacrifice. Come into my life now, Lord. Take up residence in my heart and be my king, my Lord, and my Savior. From this day forward, I will no longer be controlled by sin, or the desire to please myself, but I will follow You all the days of my life. Those days are in Your hands. I ask this in the Lord and GOD Jesus’ precious and holy name. Amen.”
