Is Mary of equal status with Jesus?
No! How can Mary be of equal status with Jesus when Jesus created all things?
“16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.” (Colossians 1:16-17)
Was Mary immaculately conceived?
The Immaculate Conception is the Roman Catholic belief that Mary was protected from original sin, that Mary did not have a sin nature and was, in fact, sinless. But is the belief biblical? No!
Mary is not an exception to the Bible’s statement that “all have sinned” (Romans 3:23). Mary needed a Savior just like the rest of us (Luke 1:47). Only Jesus was the One who was without sin (1 John 3:5; 1 Peter 2:22; 2 Corinthians 5:21).
Was Mary a perpetual virgin?
No! She had children with Joseph after the birth of Jesus.
Yes, Mary was a virgin when she gave birth to Jesus. But in Matthew 13:55 it reads Jesus had brothers. In Matthew 1:25 it reads Joseph did not have union with Mary until Jesus was born.
Can Mary be our mediator?
No! The Bible is clear there is only one mediator: ““For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;” (1 Timothy 2:5)
Can Mary bring salvation?
No! The Bible reads: “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name [Jesus] under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
Does Mary deserve worship or veneration?
God said in His word: “I am the Lord [Yahweh]: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.” (Isaiah 42:8)
“For the LORD [Yahweh] thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.” (Deuteronomy 4:24)
