Ever wonder why when some people are drunk, they have a tendency to be violent and become less inhibited to engage in sexual immorality? Sir John Eccles received his Nobel Prize for research on the brain, and he describes the brain as “a machine that a ghost can operate.” Allowing oneself to have the consciousness altered, whether it is through meditation, drugs, or alcohol, can leave one vulnerable to demonic manipulation or infestation. Hey, alcohol is not called spirits for nothing.
This is not an exaggeration. Alcohol has destroyed the lives of many. Who knows how many people became homeless because of alcoholism? Countless people have been victims of drunk driving. I was almost hit by a drunk driver. How many unborn babies have been aborted because two drunken strangers had sex that they later regretted? How many men and women have committed crimes against their neighbors and friends because they had to get some money for booze?
Aside from that, there are health risks associated with being a drunkard. It is linked to increased risks of mouth, throat, and liver cancer. Drinking while pregnant can damage the baby. Interestingly, in many cases, alcohol is involved with suicide. Almost 1/3rd of young people commit suicide while intoxicated, and 70% of men drink alcohol before taking their own life. [Source]
Alcohol is associated with many false gods. For instance, Dionysus, Romanized as Bacchus, was a god of wine. The notorious satanist, Aleister Crowley (which was channeled through him from the demonic realm) wrote, “I am the Snake that giveth Knowledge & Delight and bright glory, and stir the hearts of men with drunkenness. To worship me take wine and strange drugs whereof I will tell my prophet, & be drunk thereof!”
THE SIN OF DRUNKENNESS
(1 Corinthians 6:9-10) “Do you not know that the unrighteous (WILL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD?) Do not be deceived. Neither Fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor (DRUNKARDS), nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God”
(Titus 2:6) “Young men likewise exhort to be (SOBER MINDED)”
(1 Peter 5:8) “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:“
(Matthew 24:48-51) Jesus said, “But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; And shall begin to smite his fellow servants, and (TO EAT AND DRINK WITH THE DRUNKEN); The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, And shall cut him asunder, and (APPOINT HIM HIS PORTION WITH THE HYPOCRITES: THERE SHALL BE WEEPING AND GNASHING OF TEETH)”
(Proverbs 20:1) “Wine is a mocker, Strong drink is a brawler, And (WHOEVER IS LED ASTRAY BY IT IS NOT WISE)” 
(Galatians 5:19-21) “Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, Fornicators, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envying’s, murders, (DRUNKENNESS), revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things (SHALL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD)”
(2 Timothy 3:1-5) “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, (LOVERS OF PLEASURE RATHER THAN LOVERS OF GOD), having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!”

(James 4:4) “Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? (WHOEVER THEREFORE WANTS TO BE A FRIEND OF THE WORLD MAKES HIMSELF AN ENEMY OF GOD)”
Ephesians 5:18 “ And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;”
Proverbs 23:20-21 “Be not among winebibbers; among riotous eaters of flesh: for the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.”

If you don’t know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you can receive Him into your heart, and He can deliver you from darkness and sin and have your name written in His Book of Life.
If you are sincere, you can say this simple prayer to the Father (it doesn’t have to be word for word):
“God, I recognize that I have not lived my life for You up until now. I have been living for myself and that is wrong. Please forgive me of all of my sins, just as I forgive others. I need You in my life; I want You in my life. I acknowledge the completed work of Your only-begotten Son Jesus Christ in giving His life for me on the cross, I believe in my heart Jesus is Lord and was raised from the dead and I long to receive the forgiveness you have made freely available to me through this sacrifice. Come into my life now, Lord. Take up residence in my heart and be my king, my Lord, and my Savior. From this day forward, I will no longer be controlled by sin, or the desire to please myself, but I will follow You all the days of my life. Those days are in Your hands. I ask this in the Lord and GOD Jesus’ precious and holy name. Amen.”
