We Are All Prisoners of War Until We Have The Lord Jesus Christ

The more I observe the world and people the more it is obvious to me how people are bound up by Satan and sin. They do the devil’s bidding – they are like blind zombies being led onto the broad road to destruction.

Thank God Jesus came to set us free from the bondage of sin and the devil. The Greek word for “captive” can also mean prisoner.

◄ 164. aichmalótos ►
Strong’s Concordance
aichmalótos: captive
Original Word: αἰχμάλωτος, ου, ὁ
Part of Speech: Noun, Masculine
Transliteration: aichmalótos
Phonetic Spelling: (aheekh-mal-o-tos’)
Short Definition: a captive, prisoner
Definition: a captive (in war), a prisoner

All of us without Jesus are actually prisoners of the devil.

Only by the power of Jesus can those shackles and prison bars can be broken. I have never witnessed nothing else but the power of God that can deliver anyone from drug, alcohol or sex addictions.

  1. As it says, the “whole world is under the sway of the evil one”. Sway meaning influence. Who in their right mind would want to be under the power, control, and influence of such an evil entity who only seeks to steal, kill and destroy them? But then, those who still walk in such darkness, instead of coming to the light of Jesus, don’t comprehend that.
