A Warning About Certain Kinds of Rock Music -Deathcore Music is Demonic

“But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.” – Proverbs 8:36

I make this post as a warning to people in light of a Christian from South Africa I recently prayed for who believed to got demonized from indulging in a certain kind of music. The type of music he loved to listen to is called deathcore (something I never knew existed before), a subgenre that combines death metal with metalcore. Low growls and shrieked screams are common types of vocals in deathcore. Some other techniques that deathcore vocalists have used includes pig squeals! Darkness, shocking, macabre, and of course death are what one can describe the imagery associated with deathcore.

One of his favorite singers is/was called Alex Terrible, formerly from the band Slaughter to Prevail (what a name, huh?), from Russia. He said he listened to such music for 14 years for hours every day. He would also listen to bands or singers such as Heaven Shall Burn, All Shall Perish (white names!), Whitechapel, Bring Me the Horizon, Asking Alexandria, Chelsea Grin, and Attila. He said he was drawn to the music like an addict. He even considered buying Alex’s mask (which is probably cursed, as objects can have demonic attachments).

From Alex’s Instagram. How unbelievably disturbing.
This guy seriously needs Jesus!

Why did he suspect he was demonized? He heard tormenting voices in his head blaspheming God, but the voices would mimic his own inner voice to make it seem like he was the one responsible. A telltale sign of demonization. Consequently, he would feel condemned and guilty. This is not an uncommon tactic of satan’s kingdom to make people feel like they blasphemed God in their thoughts to make a person feel condemned.

He also related to me that when he sang the lyrics, it was like another voice came out of his mouth that wasn’t his own—it was very supernatural. It is likely the evil spirit(s) that inhabited him were behind it. Such a thing is not so outlandish, considering several pop musicians admitted to feeling something taking control of them as they sang. R&B singer Beyoncé revealed that something takes control of her (apparently an evil spirit) when she goes on stage.

He also shared with me, he saw a spirit with a hood and a face of a cow with horns in his home. It may have been the music had some part in opening the door for that evil spirit into his home.

After we renounced and repented of his involvement with the cursed music, deliverance was prayed for him, and sure enough, he said something came out of him. Afterward, he felt much relief, and peace, and his mind became much clearer. He no longer felt easily angered.

It really shouldn’t take much convincing to anyone that deathcore, and similar music, is straight from satan’s kingdom. There is no doubt satan uses a lot of music today to carry out his wicked agenda. The same goes for a lot of Hip Hop music, which has recently taken over Rock as the most popular genre.

Rock album covers with blatant satanic imagery.

If one indulges in things of satan’s kingdom, one shouldn’t be surprised doors are opened to the enemy. Let’s all repent and hold fast to that which is good, abstaining from all appearance of evil (1 Thess. 5:21-22). Don’t allow ourselves to be polluted by the world, but rather focus on things that are pure and lovely (James 1:27; James 4:4; Phil. 4:8).

If you don’t know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you can receive Him into your heart, and He can deliver you from darkness and sin and have your name written in His Book of Life.

If you are sincere, you can say this simple prayer to the Father (it doesn’t have to be word for word):

“God, I recognize that I have not lived my life for You up until now. I have been living for myself and that is wrong. Please forgive me of all of my sins just as I forgive others. I need You in my life; I want You in my life. I acknowledge the completed work of Your only begotten Son Jesus Christ in giving His life for me on the cross, I believe in my heart Jesus is Lord and was raised from the dead and I long to receive the forgiveness you have made freely available to me through this sacrifice. Come into my life now, Lord. Take up residence in my heart and be my king, my Lord, and my Savior. From this day forward, I will no longer be controlled by sin, or the desire to please myself, but I will follow You all the days of my life. Those days are in Your hands. I ask this in the Lord and GOD Jesus’ precious and holy name. Amen.”

Yes, this is interesting and quite disturbing. I think that deathcore bands are the thin end of the wedge, in that though they are very weird and frightening, it’s the way the world has been going for decades, and not just in entertainment.

There is a lack of moral leadership everywhere, business, politics, the media in general, and many other institutions, including governments of many nations. Greed, lying, obfuscation, hypocrisy and double standards are so prevalent in Western societies, let alone anywhere else, that they are hardly remarked on anymore. We expect lies, half truths, cover ups, ommissions and a lack of conmon justice. I’m not getting partisan political here either, the reality is that everything has corrupted.

Culture follows society. Society reflects culture. We get what we passively put up with, until whilst being flushed into the sewer of increasing filth and lawlessness and a painful lack of even basic morality, we wonder open faced how we got here.

We NEED to get back to God! To turn our houses into houses of prayer and start asking God how we can take back ground, and preach and especially live boldly for Him in these corrupted and corrupting times.

Jamal, I’ve been reading your site for quite a while. Your sober, intelligent and clear posts on this and related topics told me that you are knowledgeable, experienced and intimate with the subject you write about.

I wondered if you would write a post detailing your Christian conversion, your original and first brushes with demons and related issues and your story to this date. I would also be happy to write my story for your site. I say this for a number of reasons. One, that we are not frankly nuts and strung out on some drug, but that regular ordinary people like myself can have dealings with what are seemingly frightening negative spiritual realities. Two, I want to emphasise to that when we discuss such spiritual matters, we are talking in an absolute sober fashion, and not regurgitating sci-fi or horror or conspiracy theories etc. Three, I want people to know who come here experiencing anything weird, strange dreams, coincidences, odd unexplained occurrences, seeing ghosts, ufos etc etc, that they are not crazy! These things happen, because we live in a fallen world and there is an evil spiritual realm completely and unalterably opposed to God and His Kingdom. Fourthly, it is to completely understood that no power in Heaven, earth or anywhere else can withstand Jesus Christ! This is the real story.

We need to call on Him and stop living as if we are sleepwalking.

I gave my life to Jesus at a death core concert. I felt His presence and just knew I wanted to live for Him. I worship Jesus everyday while headbanging to death core. Does that make me satanic?

Where was this death core concert in honour of Jesus, please? Rock music, any music of itself is not necessarily satanic but anything which is disturbing, has violent imagery or violent and blasphemous lyrics attached to it will be dangerous.

There are indeed some Christian metal bands but I personally don’t think death core metal could be really truly Christian in nature. What do you think?

Well I mean Jesus was hung on a cross and we consume his blood and flesh so I don’t get why death core music isn’t fitting. I forgot what band it was I just went there with some friends. There was a song they were screaming and it went like “EAT MY FLESH! DRINK MY BLOOD! SINNERRR!” and at that moment I felt the presence of Jesus and knew I needed Him in my life. I gave my life up for Him. That moment was special to me, so I listen to death core in His honor.

What do you think of DESTINYS LAB?
The videos and music they have are all about the Bible and what happens. It is the best biblical/truth rock/rap group I have heard. They are distinctly themselves not ever showing there faces in any of there music. They do not show boat about Earthly matters . They are putting out a message that will get through to many sinners.
I also like that they have not signed up with a satanic label and are self promoted.
I would like to knelt your thoughts. You can watch there videos on YouTube for free.
