Christ Consciousness is believed to be the state of consciousness of being as Christ was: unified with God. “Christ” is not someONE outside of us, Christ is someTHING that we step into the realization of through an awakening of our true nature as an expression of God.
So really, we are all Christ, we just haven’t realized it yet like Jesus did. This idea draws upon Hinduism, Buddhism, and theosophy to give us an esoteric understanding of the ministry of Jesus. Here are some quotes by New Age teachers on the idea that we are all Christ:
“Is he (Jesus) the Christ? O yes, along with you.” – A Course in Miracles, manual, p.87”
“Accepting the Christ” is merely a shift in self-perception” – Marianne Williamson, A Return to Love: Reflections On The Principles Of A Course In Miracles, p. 32
“Many have been Christed, not just Jesus of Nazareth. You can be Christed too.” Neale Donald Walsch in Conversations with God, book 2, pg. 22
“You are, quite literally, the Word of God, made flesh” – FWG, pg. 395
This idea is tickling to the ears and may be attractive to a layperson seeking spiritual insight. But as it turns out, this idea is extremely easy to be proven false from the words of Jesus himself. Let’s take a look at some reasons why Christ Consciousness is not compatible with the ministry of Jesus:
1. Jesus warns of this philosophy specifically in Matthew.
In Matthew 24:3-5, Jesus says the following: “And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many” (KJV).
Furthermore he says starting at verse 23: “Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect” (KJV).
To believe that you can be Christ or that you ARE Christ, is to fall under the warning Jesus gave about deception that will take place in the final days. “I am Christ” is what many shall say to deceive people in the final days, according to Jesus.
2. This perfectly parallels the first lie told by Satan.
“Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?” And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’”
But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Genesis 3: 3-5 (ESV). So by eating of the tree of knowledge, we can become like God according to Satan.
Satan is the first one to come up with the idea that through some kind of inner wisdom or knowledge you can become like God, and we are hearing this echoed from New Age teachers who are telling us we can all become Christ through ascending to higher consciousness.
3. The greatest man EVER denied being Christ.
Jesus said “Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has arisen no one greater than John the Baptist” Matthew 11:11 (ESV). So John the Baptist is the greatest man who ever lived, according to Jesus Christ himself. Let’s see what John has to say about himself:
“And this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?” He confessed, and did not deny, but confessed, “I am not the Christ.” John 1:20-21.
Later he says “You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, ‘I am not the Christ, but I have been sent before him” in John 3:28. So if someone who was predicted in the Old Testament 1000 years before he was born, who baptized Jesus himself, and who was called by Jesus to be the greatest man ever is not Christ, how are we all Christ?
4. It requires a misuse of the word “Christ”.
“Christos” which appears 538 times in the New Testament, and refers to a person (Jesus) every single time it is used. What the New Age does is redefine “Christ” to mean a state of consciousness and an inward nature, which isn’t used a single time in scripture.
In fact it’s not even twistable to even fit with scripture because “Christ” is spoken of as a “he” in every verse, meaning the Messiah, the Saviour. It’s used synonymously with Jesus and never refers to anyone or anything other than him. This redefinition is simply unwarranted.

If you don’t know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior you can receive Him into your heart and He can deliver you from darkness and sin and have your name written in His Book of Life.
If you are sincere you can say this simple prayer to the Father (it doesn’t have to be word for word):
“God, I recognize that I have not lived my life for You up until now. I have been living for myself and that is wrong. Please forgive me of all of my sins just as I forgive others. I need You in my life; I want You in my life. I acknowledge the completed work of Your only begotten Son Jesus Christ in giving His life for me on the cross, I believe in my heart Jesus is Lord and was raised from the dead and I long to receive the forgiveness you have made freely available to me through this sacrifice. Come into my life now, Lord. Take up residence in my heart and be my king, my Lord, and my Savior. From this day forward, I will no longer be controlled by sin, or the desire to please myself, but I will follow You all the days of my life. Those days are in Your hands. I ask this in the Lord and GOD Jesus’ precious and holy name. Amen.”
Jesus Truth Deliverance 
I understand your concerns but let us reason as we both practice warfare. It is natural that many Christians like ourselfs will ‘cling’ to the dogma of Constentines ‘fixed’ version of the Bible manuscripts, to down-grade Gods ‘Judgement’ and the existing ‘Hell’ heavily loaded in favour of consealing the antics of ‘Lucifer’ for millennia , as vital information contained within the ‘rejected and lost manuscripts’ pointing to the real truth about Christ, his origins, the FATHER, the angelic rebellion of Lucifer and his co-horts ,as the ‘father of lies’, surfaces Lucifer does not want people knowing the ‘spiritual warefare’ to defeat him and defend ourselves with. Such as quoting the ‘name’ to Lucifer or any Demon that attacks you of the ‘oath of Akae’ which The Father Abba instructed WE as His children were supposed to use on every occasion ! The ‘spirit of religiosity’ hangs over the churches as they ‘defend’ the “truth” of ‘the word’ for the weekly shekels in tithes and subscriptions dangled enticingly. Christ refers to himself as ‘the Christ’in His letters and articles. Surly it stands to reason when he lives in us and we in him that that statement alone ‘makes us all Christs, as being his earthly representatives, his ambassadors ? All of us coming from the Father in spiritual origin, makes us potential ‘creators’ capable of ‘creating’ as Christ did as we are ‘Sons and Daughters of the Most High’ so that gives us the untapped potential of ‘doing greater things than these as I go unto my Father which is in heaven’? Is that not the point and not that we argue over ‘titles’ but have the capacity to ‘create’? Your missing the point over being a spark of the creator yourself. It’s nothing to do with calling our selves God! It’s about learning how to ‘follow in the true footsteps’ of Christ. Christ talks of ‘UNIVERSAL LOVING INTELLIGENCE that so marvelously designed this world’. He asks this: I the true Christ, can only ask the Christians in the world:’What is there in your personal nature or charicture which drives you, in this more enlightened age, an age of evolving brotherly love, to cling to and violently defend the old Christian Dogma, which, logically speaking, has not a single provable truth to commend itself to your reasoning mind. You have made for yourselves, a GOD which you, would never emulate, whose dictatorial behaviour your countries have legislated against by passing LAWS on HUMAN RIGHTS. Your Human Laws have outlawed the stick in your school’s, yet you cling to and defend a religion which is all about the big stick…..’
Now dose that sound like Lucifer to you or dose that sound like an intelligent, passionate, spiritual being? I would have thought that people would have JUMPED AT THE CHANCE to have gained access to ‘new teachings’ from Jesus Christ! He himself has said on several occasions to others ‘Do not ‘limit’ me’! And as LORD he can do what ever he wants, with whomever he wants. Why are you doing a character assassination on Christ for telling His truth? Do you not understand his letters, articles? The principal that ‘what ever we give rise to in thought matters, as this gives either ‘life’ for the betterment of the community you live in or creates a ‘Myasma of Beastliness’ that gathers strength and takes form as it gathers electro-magnetism from the environment around it, then goes on the rampage and causes damage to innocent people? Like a mass induced curse? Or that the daily feeding off of the media, television and the like ‘feeds’ this mass consciousness of evil perpetuated around the globe, creating evil life forms that then go and attach themselves to the unsuspecting?
Nobody has an issue with the statement that the Son lives in the Father and the Father in the Son.
The Holy Spirit’ guides us all who are fully baptized and soon we will all know that when the ‘vital archilogical evidence’ that has been supressed by the Vatican for hundreds of years surfaces it will be the ‘missing-link’ to the truth. This is about to be brought into the light by Christ Himself who will blow alot of misconceptions about his Deity and writings such as these letters and articles you question out of the water! Remember alot of the Jews still don’t accept Christ as the Messiah! Please take all of this to prayer with Christ the Lord. Understand that I am not having a personal dig at anyone-we are/were taught by people who were taught wrongly themselves and I include my ‘original-self’ in that. It’s why I ended up asking to be taught only by Christ Himself. But we also must recognise that the vast majority of the body of Christ is still ‘fast asleep’ and full of Demons needing Deliverance, from the Church leaders to the very congregation itself, from Demons through Witchcraft (which worships Jezebel) as Jezebel is manipulating the churches globally- you will be sat in the same room as these witches as they join churches services deliberately to ‘take the churches down’. All churches should be practicing warefare and casting out Demons’ constantly.
In Christ’s letters and articles he said that ‘His Gospelers were NOT in the position of recalling exactly what he said and that only He Himself is in the position to do this as ‘The Christ’ and formally that of Jesus. He goes on to explain that the Gospelers wrote a ‘collection of reminisence’ some 30 plus years AFTER his crucifixion ! Remember with kindness that ‘they were in fear’ of their lives! Stephen was the first to be martyred for speaking up about ‘Christ’s Way’ against the Jews. Christ referred to himself as ‘the Son of Man’!
Paul and the other ‘Gospelers’ were trying to keep everyone happy by bridging the gap between the Jewish faith that they were from and ‘The way’, the name for the early church led by James, cousin of Jesus Christ and brother in the faith and the first Bishop of the chuch and, of Jerusalem.
Further, Christs ‘way’ is not based on some of the many ‘Pagan teachings’ of the Jewish Torah such as burning innocent animals and birds ect. Lest we forget the Jews also sacrificed to demons such as Baal, Jezebel, Ahab ect. We only have to look at Salomon who married Pharos Daughter and converted to witchcraft! Alot of todays demonology stems directly from Solomon and the 72 fallen angels quoted in the ‘Key’of Solomon.
Christ refused to believe that ‘God the Father’ was a ‘vengeful Jehovah’ and goes in to great depths in his writings to dispel and dispatch many ‘myths’ that are firmly rooted in the now sudo Christian-jewish chuch based ‘egos’ we defend ‘vigorously’. The Bible teachings from the position of our ‘firmly rooted egos’ are more comfortably and convenient embraced without question, than to question the unthinkable that spiritually we are lacking, because we have been altogether too eger to accept the ‘spoon fed’ cobbled together version of many untruths that clouds perception. Understanding requires diligence and patience.
This year I was myself approached directly by Christ to persue His ‘Chirsts Consciousness’ letters and articles as part of my ‘Teacher-training’.

Nice response. The original article, IMO, was highly dogmatic and very much had a “thou shalt do as I say or else” feel to it. Thank you for presenting your counter-argument in both an intelligent and compassionate way. I’m still amazed at how so many have embraced a “religion” whose origin comes from the greatest oppressors of the message of the Messiah, throughout all of history: the Romans. Once you awaken to this reality, it is both sad and laughable… “Hey! We all need to be following the practices of the Messiah, as presented by the very people who executed him and every one of his followers whom they could get their hands on!” Why is it so hard to see the fallacy in that?
