Crystal Meth is Diabolical: A Christian’s Perspective

“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:” – Deuteronomy 30:19

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” 1 Peter 5:8

Introduction

Photos taken before methamphetamine-related use (Source).

One of the most tragic things I have seen in my entire life is seeing a drugged-out person looking like a zombie roaming about on the street who is out of his/her mind, yelling at the air as if there is an invisible being. God, who created this beautiful soul, has been withered down all for the chase of a fleeting pleasure. It is like seeing the walking dead.

Several people have contacted me who have claimed to have been demonized (or demon-possessed) because of their use of crystal meth. Thus, I feel compelled to address it with a serious warning. I have said it many times here, and I will repeat it: using any kind of drug that alters the consciousness will open a person wide open for demonization (indwelt with unclean/evil spirits)!

However, certain drugs seem to be worse than others. Specific different drugs have been exposed here, especially the ones people have contacted me for deliverance, which we have discerned led to demonization, such as ayahuasca, marijuana, LSD, and alcohol (being a drunkard). One of the worst drugs is crystal methamphetamine, popularly known as crystal meth. In fact, many people who have struggled with the drug call it a choice between “life or meth!” Sadly, many have chosen meth.

This drug is pure evil. I wouldn’t even touch it with a ten-foot pole.

Some Quick Facts About Crystal Meth

One source reads:

Crystal meth is the common name for crystal methamphetamine, a strong and highly addictive drug that affects the central nervous system. There is no legal use for it.

It comes in clear crystal chunks or shiny blue-white rocks. Also called “ice” or “glass,” it’s a popular party drug. Usually, users smoke crystal meth with a small glass pipe, but they may also swallow it, snort it, or inject it into a vein. People say they have a quick rush of euphoria shortly after using it. But it’s dangerous. It can damage your body and cause severe psychological problems.

And:

Methamphetamine is a man-made stimulant that’s been around for a long time. During World War II, soldiers took meth to stay awake. People have also taken the drug to lose weight, ease depression, and manage attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Today, the only legal meth product is a prescription pill. Rarely, it’s used to treat obesity and ADHD.

Illegal methamphetamine may also contain chemicals found in household products such as batteries, drain cleaner, fertilizer, nail polish remover, or paint thinner.

The drug, Pervitin, an addictive methamphetamine-based drug, was abused by Hitler’s troops. It reportedly made them feel “invincible.”
The Santa Muerte cult has often been associated with Mexican drug traffickers. Some drug traffickers make a request to Santa Muerte that their crystal meth shipment arrives safely to its destination. It doesn’t take a lot of discernment to know that the spirit behind the idol is demonic.

It has many street names like speed, biker’s coffee, tweak or crystal, redneck cocaine, poor man’s cocaine, uppers, yellow bam, or meth for short. It comes in a white powder or pill form and is bitter-tasting.  It is a stimulant like caffeine and cocaine, although far more powerful.

In Southeast Asia, the most common form of methamphetamine is a small pill—called a Yaba in Thailand and a Shabu in the Philippines.

As of 2021, around 6 per cent of the American population (aged 12 and older) had tried it at least once, the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) reports.

It can be deadly. According to one source, in 2021, nearly 33,000 deaths in the United States involved meth. Between 2015 and 2019, the number of methamphetamine-related overdose deaths almost tripled among U.S. adults aged 18 to 64.

What People Have Experienced on the Drug

Meth users have described this feeling as a sudden rush of pleasure or euphoria lasting for several minutes, followed by a euphoric high that lasts between 6 and 12 hours. However, the users will begin to experience strong cravings to use more of the drug so they can recreate these feelings. Also, people high on crystal meth can stay up for days and then crash.

Having tactile hallucinations (feeling something that isn’t there) is one of the most common forms of hallucinations in meth users. Meth users often say they feel like bugs are crawling under their skin.

Another dangerous effect of meth on the mind and body is the increase in sex drive and the lowering of sexual inhibitions among some users, which puts a person at risk for sexually transmitted diseases.

Long-term methamphetamine addiction can result in psychotic symptoms. Psychosis is a state in which a person no longer has any contact with reality. According to one source, methamphetamine psychosis is a severe reaction estimated to occur in about 40 percent of users, which far surpasses rates of substance-induced psychosis associated with other commonly misused drugs.

One source reads:

Individuals who use meth long-term can have severe cognitive and emotional issues, including:

  • Aggressive behaviors
  • Trouble with verbal learning and memory
  • Violent outbursts
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Paranoia
  • Confusion
  • Distractibility
  • Difficulties sleeping
  • Movement, motor, and coordination issues
  • Mood disturbances
  • Visual and auditory hallucinations
  • Delusions
[updated to add] Rob Reiner, the late Hollywood film director’s son, Nick Reiner, who allegedly killed his parents, was reported to go on angry outbursts, high on drugs. One report reads “Nick Reiner’s alleged descent into violence was fuelled by severe methamphetamine addiction. Insiders claim the 32-year-old would ‘do meth and not sleep for days,’ a dangerous state known as “tweaking” where the brain is chemically forced awake, leading to hallucinations, extreme irritability, and a complete loss of impulse control.” And “The guest house attached to Rob Reiner’s Brentwood estate became a containment zone for Nick’s rage. Sources describe violent episodes during his sleepless benders where he would lose control, ‘breaking things’ and ‘punching walls.’ Nick himself admitted to this in a 2018 Dopey podcast interview, recalling a time he was ‘spun out’ and started ‘punching out’ appliances in a state of confusion.” Source

The secular world may deny it, but some of these symptoms, such as delusions, confusion, paranoia, anxiety, aggressive behaviors, and violent outbursts can be attributed to demonization (more on this later). Indeed, according to a study, a majority of meth users (56%) perceived that their methamphetamine use resulted in violent behavior. This is reminiscent of the exceedingly fierce demoniacs in the tomb that Jesus encountered as recorded in the Bible (Matthew 8:28).

Another indicator of being high on it is “tweaking,” which refers to engaging in bizarre, frantic, and compulsive behaviors for hours on end, often feeling hypersensitive, irritable, and impulsive. Common tweaking behaviors include repetitively picking at one’s face or arms, obsessive cleaning, or taking things apart for no apparent reason.

Illicit Drug Use is a Huge Demonic Door-Opener

One common experience people have when using the drug (or after) is seeing strange entities. Somehow, being a user of the drug will normally open one’s eyes to the spirit realm that is usually invisible to most people. There are numerous reports of people who have what some may believe as visual hallucinations, such as seeing dark shadow figures in the shape of men after using the drug. There are even secular books that mention them. There are all kinds of theories about who or what the shadow people are. Some surmise they are demons. Others think they are not demons but bad energy or felt vibrations instead. Some even speculate that shadow people may be the extra-dimensional inhabitants of another universe.

They can appear as dark forms in the periphery of people’s vision. They can disintegrate, move through walls, and disappear like smoke. Some have described them as a “black mass.” Some have seen tall men in dark cloaks appearing and disappearing quickly with a small flash. Some people have reported that they were so dark that they were blacker than the blackest black. They have been seen in groups, according to some people. A common report is seeing the so-called “shadow men” sometimes wearing a fedora hat and/or a trench coat. Some have reported that their presence accompanies a feeling of dread.

The sightings of the (demonic) entities that people report are real. It’s not just in a person’s head. It’s not a hallucination. Not to say there is no such thing as real hallucinations, but in this instance, how can it be when people on the drug report seeing a similar entity? They are there in the corner of a person’s eye, sometimes spying from behind, lurking, and drug users and non-drug users alike have seen these so-called shadow men.

However, these shadow men aren’t really men at all. They are demons or evil spirits written about in the Holy Bible. Satan roams the earth seeking to destroy mankind (Job 1:7), and so do his underlings. Some of these demons have made their homes inside people, gaining power over a person’s mind (Matthew 12:43-45). The enemy keeps the person bound to the drug by keeping him/her addicted. It’s diabolical.

The singer Fergie from the pop/Hip Hop group Black Eyed Peas can attest to the drug opening doors to the demonic. She was very open about her meth addiction and admitted that she saw demons when she was high:

In an interview for Åkerlund’s cameras, Fergie recalls a time walking on LA’s Wilshire Boulevard, screaming and “seeing devils everywhere”. No, she says quietly, that wasn’t scripted.

“No, that happened. I’m very open about what I call my ‘dark period’,” she says, lowering her voice theatrically. “I went into a church and had this epiphany. It was a crossroads. The drugs that I was taking were making me insane. I was definitely seeing things and talking to them.”

(Source)

Also, there are reports of animals that seem to pay extra attention to a person high on crystal meth. Dogs seem to bark at nothing or shy away from areas of your home as if in fear, lifting their nose in the air and whining as if trying to point to someone or something. Other kinds of pets seem to act similarly. Some people have also reported seeing aliens, UFOs, and other strange creatures. This could be the result of opening the door or portal to the enemy by indulging in the sin of drug use.

I have never been a drug user, but I have seen the shadow humanoid figures many times, especially when I was in a state of sleep paralysis, so I know people who have claims of such sightings are not false.

As repeated here many times, the Bible reveals that we are all in a spiritual war: For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:12). The same demons Jesus was casting out of people 2,000 years ago in Israel are still around today.

The Possible Consequences of Demonization

There are many negative physical consequences attributed to crystal meth abuse, but here the focus will be on the spiritual consequences. As soon as a person gets high on crystal meth (or just about any illicit drug for that matter), the person sins against the holy God and allows satan to get a foothold in her/his life. When a person is sober, he/she is fully in control of their body — human beings are a spirit/soul operating a body. But while under the influence of certain drugs, this control is severed — and then evil spirits can jump into the body and manipulate the person. Indeed, some have said that using crystal meth transforms a person into a puppet.

Why is it so difficult for many to break the drug habit? Many times, when people are addicted to drugs, it’s really the demons putting pressure on their flesh to stay in bondage. It’s a satanic snare to trap people in a cycle of addiction.

Crystal meth often curbs the desire to eat or drink. It seems as if the lack of substance in our bodies signifies our ’empty vessel’ in the spiritual realm, allowing either “life or death (meth)” to enter our lives. Devoted Christians worldwide regularly fast for various reasons, such as to seek God’s will for their lives or to gain spiritual insight. It seems like the typical crystal meth user is essentially doing the same thing while under the influence of crystal meth. It is like a forced fast, an unholy fast, when they don’t eat as much, which opens the doors even more so for the demonic realm, and likely facilitates evil spirits to be indwelt.

Being under the influence of drugs can also cause someone to be more likely to commit other major sins. These include fornication (even prostitution), theft, violence, etc. These sins attract more demons. Drug consumption is like opening up Pandora’s box. It will unleash a demonic invasion into the drug user’s life.

Another serious risk of crystal meth use is hearing voices. Some people have contacted me and revealed that they started hearing voices internally after using it. In such a circumstance, I would say there is almost a 100% certainty that demons are inside the person.

Take heed. Each time you use the drug, you’re essentially turning the doorknob to hell and releasing these evil spirits into your life. As the Lord Jesus said about satan, The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (John 10:10). These demons come to ultimately devour you and they have no mercy (1 Peter 5:8).

Even if one doubts or rejects the spiritual consequences of drug use, it still destroys people’s lives. Many have seen countless people fall into the deceit of crystal meth (or some other destructive drug), which led to their families and relationships disintegrating as a result, causing much pain and hurt.

The Biblical Condemnation of Illicit Drug Use

Satan wants to destroy and defile the body and fill it with unclean spirits, whether one is a Christian or not. This is at least one reason why God condemns illicit drug use. He hates and despises all human beings because we are made in God’s image (Genesis 1:27). But the enemy especially hates and targets Christians more because they can be more of a threat to his kingdom and are saved.

Many scriptures command people to honor their bodies as it is a temple of God (if one is a born-again believer in Jesus):

Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” Romans 12:1

But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.”  Romans 13:14

God is so serious against the use of drugs that those who partake in it will be prohibited from inheriting the Kingdom of God!

Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality…SORCERY…and things like these, of which I forewarn you just as I have forewarned you that those who practice such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.” –Galatians 5:19-21

and they [the final generation of this age] did not repent of their murders nor of their SORCERIES nor of their immorality nor of their thefts.” –Revelation 9:21

for your merchants were the great men of the earth, because all the nations were deceived by your SORCERY.” –Revelation 18:23b

But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and SORCERERS and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”–Revelation 21:8

Outside [God’s holy city] are the dogs and the SORCERERS and the immoral persons and the murderers and the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying.” –Revelation 22:15

What does sorcery mean in the Biblical context? The Greek word translated “sorcery” in the Bible is translated from the Greek word pharmakeia” and its various Greek cognates. It is from the Greek word pharmakeia” that we get our English words “pharmacy” and “pharmaceutical.” “Pharmakeia” is translated as “sorcery” rather than drugs because sorcerers often used consciousness-altering drugs to facilitate altered states of consciousness to invoke demons.

The following quotation is from Strong’s Lexicon, showing the strong association between drugs and the spirit world and idolatry [bold mine]:

Word Origin: Derived from φάρμακον (pharmakon), meaning “a drug” or “spell-giving potion.”

Corresponding Greek / Hebrew Entries: The Hebrew equivalent often associated with similar practices is כֶּשֶׁף (kesheph), which also refers to sorcery or witchcraft, as seen in passages like Exodus 22:18 and Deuteronomy 18:10.

Usage: In the New Testament, “pharmakeia” refers to the practice of sorcery or witchcraft, often involving the use of potions, spells, and enchantments. It is associated with idolatry and the manipulation of spiritual forces through illicit means. The term is used to describe practices that are contrary to the worship of the one true God and are often linked with moral corruption and deception.

Cultural and Historical Background: In the ancient Greco-Roman world, “pharmakeia” was commonly associated with the use of drugs and potions for magical or religious purposes. Sorcerers and magicians were believed to have the power to influence the spiritual realm, often for personal gain or to harm others. Such practices were prevalent in pagan religions and were condemned by Jewish and early Christian teachings as they were seen as attempts to usurp God’s authority and engage with demonic forces.

Help in Christ and Deliverance

If you want freedom from the bondage of meth addiction (or any addiction for that matter) and the pain entailed by drug addiction, then first and foremost, you must repent and submit to the Lord Jesus Christ. Desperately call out to Him. He can forgive you. He can help you. He can restore you.

Get rid of the drugs, throw them away, and resolve to never indulge in them again. Jesus Christ is Lord and Judge. It’s time to get right with Him. Today, we must choose to not use crystal meth. God said He has set in front of us life or death (meth). Choose to say no to crystal meth. Instead, turn your life over to the Lord Jesus Christ.

These demonic sightings are real; they exist. You’re not crazy! If you want to share your testimony of drugs opening doors to the enemy, then also feel free to share.

If you don’t know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you can receive Him into your heart, and He can deliver you from darkness and sin and have your name written in His Book of Life.

If you are sincere, you can say this simple prayer to the Father (it doesn’t have to be word for word):

“God, I recognize that I have not lived my life for You up until now. I have been living for myself and that is wrong. Please forgive me of all of my sins just as I forgive others. I need You in my life; I want You in my life. I acknowledge the completed work of Your only begotten Son Jesus Christ in giving His life for me on the cross, I believe in my heart Jesus is Lord and was raised from the dead and I long to receive the forgiveness you have made freely available to me through this sacrifice. Come into my life now, Lord. Take up residence in my heart and be my king, my Lord, and my Savior. From this day forward, I will no longer be controlled by sin, or the desire to please myself, but I will follow You all the days of my life. Those days are in Your hands. I ask this in the Lord and GOD Jesus’ precious and holy name. Amen.”

Thank you, Jamaal, for exposing crystal meth and other drugs for what they are. I’ve been blessed to have avoided drugs and alcohol but I’ve known others who’ve been addicted; it doesn’t just hurt the user but everyone they know and love.

I know that illegal drugs are demonic door openers, but I suspect that at least some prescription drugs may be as well. Pharmakeia being the root of our English word pharmacy, and the prevalence of the “snake on a pole” symbology in the the entire medical industry lead me to suspect something is amiss there.

I’ve never seen any shadow people/spirits personally, but I’ve talked with several strong Christians who have seen them. My own father, also a believing Christian, saw a large, pitch black “golem looking” creature casually walk through our house briefly one day. I’ve seen small orbs of light floating around on a couple of occasions. I have a relative who suffers from sleep paralysis, and sees the shadow people during it, but I’m not sure how to help her because she’s not a believer and instead thinks it’s a natural, psychological problem.

Thank you for this wonderful ministry, brother Jamaal, and God bless you! You’ve been a tremendous blessing to myself and many others.

    1. God bless you. Thanks for your input.

And you’re right, I believe some pharmaceutical drugs can open the doors to demonization. I remember years ago, a woman contacted me who got demonized after using Adderall.

I am a Christian who has studied the subject of demonization intensely over the past years out of my own need of deliverance and I have found a lot of useful information on this blog.

In my daily life, I am a Drug and Alcohol Worker and I believe that drugs themselves are actually demons, not just alcohol, it is no coincidence that we call strong alcohol “spirits”.

Whenever I ask a client, and I do this almost with every client at some point, if they perceive their addiction as if something evil “like a demon” has entered them, I have yet to come across one client who doesn’t reply to that suggestion with : “That’s exactly what it is!” or similar.
Even my theory, that every drug has their own “Personality” is confirmed by every single client I have ever worked with over the years.
When I have time, I will write something about the different personalities of the various substances, but you are spot on, my brother, they ALL are demonic and addiction is a spiritual matter – 100% certain!!!

It’s no coincidence that AA (and now also it’s “children” NA, CA and MA etc) are founding their 12 step program on step one, which is to surrender to a “higher power” (used to be called GOD) and admit that we have lost control and are powerless against this addiction and need help from a higher source.
I do pray (mostly in secret) for all my clients and we have great results with GOD’s help, I believe GOD has a soft spot for people in bondage, addicts, prisoners, I have seen it so many times, regardless of what they have done whilst under the “spell” of whatever they were addicted to, GOD can get them free and help them make a fresh start and only GOD can do that for them.

Thank you so much to spread the truth and helping so many people, another priceless and precious article and hopefully many people who need to read this will find it.

GOD bless you for all you do, my dear brother!!!!
