“Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;” – Psalm: 103:3

“He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” – Psalm 107:20

“For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”– Mark: 11:23 24

“And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.”– James 5:15

In some cases, sickness and infirmities can be attributed to the demonic. How is this known? In the Bible, there was a woman who had been crippled for eighteen years who was delivered and healed by Jesus on the Sabbath day in Luke 13:11-13:

“¹¹ And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.¹² And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.¹³ And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.”

Depending on the translation, Luke said the woman had a “spirit of infirmity” (KJV), a “disabling spirit” (ESV), or a “sickness caused by a spirit” (NASB). This “spirit of infirmity” is a demon who made the woman crippled for eighteen years. Thus, it is clear that evil spirits can sometimes cause disabilities.

Also in Mark 9:20-22, it seems to link sickness and demon possession are found in Mark. A boy, who had symptoms of epilepsy, was actually possessed by a demon:

“²⁰ And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming. ²¹ And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child.²² And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.”

As shown, those who were demon-possessed had physical manifestations of their demonization. This also included such things as muteness (Matthew 9:32-33; Mark 9:17-29; Luke 11:14), deafness (Mark 9:25), and blindness (Matthew 12:22). The manifestations of these afflictions were beyond the normal symptoms for the particular ailment.

As frequently emphasized here, spiritual warfare is a reality of the world. Ephesians 6:12 says, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” So one shouldn’t be surprised that the devil can afflict someone’s health.

Please note, I am not saying every case of malaise or infirmity is attributed to the demonic. If one gets ill from constantly eating too much junk food or candy, or from catching an STD because of sexual immorality, it’s obvious that it is due to a person’s recklessness.

Also, the Bible emphasizes that our present bodies are corruptible and, thus, subject to weaknesses and death. The Apostle Paul wrote about the nature of our weak, perishable, natural bodies (1 Corinthians 15:42-44).

Moreover, there are cases in the Bible where people were not assumed to be demon-possessed, but merely sick. It wasn’t attributed to any evil spirit.

But the Bible is clear that, at least in some cases, sicknesses or infirmities can be caused by evil spirits.

How can one discern if it is caused by satan’s kingdom? Being involved in deliverance ministry, I have come across people who were afflicted with an infirmity that no physician can determine to have a natural cause. When receiving deliverance prayer, their malady left, and they felt relief. I would say in such cases, it’s most likely attributed to the demonic.

The following prayer is more applicable for those who believe their sickness or infirmity is due to the demonic. But even if one thinks that the infirmity or illness is entirely owing to a natural cause, there is still nothing wrong with also praying the following prayer:

Father in heaven, I acknowledge that you are the LORD who heals (Exodus 15:26) and that nothing is impossible for You (Matthew 19:26). All good and perfect gifts come from You, heavenly Father (James 1:17). You are the Divine Surgeon who knows every intricate detail of this body, your temple. Though I have sinned against You, You still know how to give good gifts to your children (Matthew 7:11). I will trust in You with all of my heart (Proverbs 3:5-6). Have me not be wise in my own eyes; have me fear You, Lord, and turn away from evil. For it will be healing to my body and refreshing to my bones (Proverbs 3:7-8).

In Your word, it reads that if one doesn’t forgive others, then You won’t forgive the person (Matthew 6:14-15). I sincerely forgive from the heart all people who have hurt me. Since you know me better than my heart, if I haven’t truly forgiven others, please help me to do so.

Father God, have me not be anxious for anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, I will let my request be made known to You, oh God; and please give me the peace that comes from You, which surpasses all understanding, guard my heart and mind through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6). Have me not be troubled nor afraid. Please have the peace of Christ be in me (John 14:27).

I cancel any legal right for the enemy to be in my life. Lord, please bring to my mind any sins that you would want me to confess to You. Please purify my heart and mind, and You purify this body.

Awesome Father God, please free me from every long-term infection and sickness eating up my destiny, in Jesus’ name. I come before You humbly and in faith with a grateful heart, acknowledging Your sovereignty over my life and the healing process I undergo. I seek you desperately and earnestly, and I ask you to take away all sickness, infirmity, and pain from me and restore me to health fully and completely (Psalm 103:2-3). Heavenly Father, I come before you with a heart burdened by this malady. You are the great Healer, and I place my trust in Your loving hands. Grant me the strength to endure this trial and the courage to face each day. Pour out Your healing grace upon my body, mind, and spirit. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, fill my heart. In my weakness, be my strength. I surrender myself to your care, trusting that your love will sustain me. In Jesus’ name.

This sickness [mention it] shall not kill me, or hinder me from fulfilling my destiny, in the name of Jesus. I reject this sickness, disease, and infirmity— I come against it by the power of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, in Jesus’ name. Every root of infirmity in my life, be uprooted, be consumed by holy fire in the mighty name of Jesus. Any demonic power or evil spirit that has transferred infirmity into my life, I reject you in the mighty name of Jesus. The spirit of death and hell, leave my life by holy fire in the name of Jesus. Every evil spirit behind the sickness in my life, I command you to flee now in the name of Jesus. I bind and paralyze every agent of infirmity in my life in the name of Jesus. Every sickness transferred into my life by satan’s kingdom, come out now and burn to ashes in Jesus’ name. Every witchcraft affliction in my life, catch fire and burn to ashes in Jesus’ name.

Every generational sickness that afflicts members of my family line, I cut you off by the power in the blood of Jesus. Let the stripes of Jesus heal my body from every infirmity of the body and soul in Jesus’ name. Every sickness in my body MUST leave in the mighty name of Jesus.

The demons behind the sickness in my life and family, I command you to leave in Jesus’ name. I reject every arrow that flies by day to hunt me, in Jesus’ name. I stand against every pestilence that walks in darkness in Jesus’ name. Every spirit of destruction and infirmity, I command you to flee now in the mighty name of Jesus. Every serpent of infirmity circulating in my body, be evacuated by holy fire in the name of Jesus.

O Lord my God, let my tears of pain trigger your vengeance against every infirmity and their sponsors, in the name of Jesus. Every siege and invasion of diseases and infirmity on my life and family, I declare war against you. Leave by the blood of Jesus! Holy fire on you and leave in the name of Jesus! Lord Jesus, speak healing unto every organ of my body.

Father God, have your precious Holy Spirit purge within this body, soul, and spirit everything that makes me weak. Every sickness and illness, depart from me at this instance, in Jesus’ mighty name. I command everything manipulating my health to be destroyed right now in the name of Jesus. Every demon, power, or foul spirit assigned against my life to cause sickness in my life, be destroyed right now. I plead the precious blood of Jesus upon my health now. Let the precious blood of Jesus cleanse and purge me now from every sickness; in Jesus’ precious name. Let every demon or power responsible for my sickness be burned by the holy fire of God now. In Jesus’ name!

Every demonic power using sickness to torment my life, I expel you in Jesus’ name. Every dream of sickness, depart from my body, in Jesus’ name. I command every periodic sickness in my life to cease right now. Henceforth, there’s no place for you in my life, in the powerful name of Jesus.

Every strange sickness planted in my body through sexual immorality be uprooted, be evacuated by fire in the name of Jesus. Any power, any demonic spirit, or any personality using charm against my health, I declare now, I reject your attacks in Jesus’ name. Whatever drug or food that is enlarging my sickness, be purged out by the blood of Jesus. Every sickness and disease planted in my body through demonic dreams, be uprooted and flushed out by the blood of Jesus.

No spirit, power, or personality shall be able to put any sickness on me because I am redeemed by the blood of the Lamb (Revelation 1:5). Every power projecting diseases into my body, fall down and perish in Jesus’ name. Witchcraft affliction in my life, catch fire and burn to ashes in Jesus’ name. I refuse to accept any strange sickness in my body, in Jesus’ name. Oh, living God, deliver this body from the enemy, in Jesus’ name. Expel every unclean spirit from this temple. Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise( Jeremiah 17:14). By faith in Your only-begotten Son, Jesus, I am healed to the glory of You Father.

Father, let every germ of infirmity in my body clear away, in Jesus’ name. I command death upon any sickness in any areas of my body, in Jesus’ name. Have every spiritual arrow from the enemy be quenched in Jesus’ name. The power that has vowed to waste my manhood/womb without issue through sickness and infection, leave now in Jesus’ name. Every satanic instrument in my body, fashioned to cause long-term disease, burns to ashes in the name of Jesus.

Oh Lord, wash my system thoroughly with the blood of Jesus from all satanic attack, in Jesus’ name. Any wicked hand that has been tormenting and oppressing me with sickness at the edge of breakthroughs, wither and die, in the name of Jesus. O God, my Almighty Father, appear and scatter every demonic spirit behind my maladies in the name of Jesus. May the attack on my life with any sickness from the enemy be removed by the divine visitation of God, in the name of Jesus. Father God, please have every part of this body, your temple, function in the way you intended it to in the name of Jesus Christ. Burn with your Holy fire every sickness and infirmity in the name of Jesus Christ.

Deliver me from this affliction in my system now in the name of Jesus. Demonic utterances working against my health backfire in Jesus’ name. Any sickness and diseases in my life destroying my finances, your time is up, now flee, in the name of Jesus. Any demonic affliction attached to my life at birth, leave now in Jesus’ name. Stubborn infirmity following me come out now, in Jesus’ name. Any demonic affliction that gained access into my life because of my sins or that of my parents; Lord Jesus wash me clean, heal me, and restore me. Deliver me from all affliction. Any sickness in my life from the enemy bent on sending me to the grave early, expire now, in Jesus’ name. Evil agenda to make sure I remain on this bed of affliction, enough is enough, expire by fire, in Jesus’ name. Any plague or disease of affliction in my life, leave now, in Jesus’ name.

Lord, please lead me to lie down in green pastures. Lead me beside the still waters. Please restore my soul and body. Lead me in the paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake (Psalm 23:2-3). Your love and compassion have not changed (Lamentations 3:22-23). You are the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). I ask for Your Holy Spirit to flow through me and for the destruction of the devil’s work in my life (Ephesians 6:12). I bless You, Father, and forget none of Your benefits. I trust in Your promise to forgive all my sins and heal all my diseases (Psalm 103:3). I believe that by Jesus’ wounds, I have been healed (Isaiah 53:5). I give You all the glory and praise (Revelation 5:13). Amen. Make me be made whole in the name of Jesus Christ ( Mark 5:34; 6:56).

In Your loving care, I place my life and my healing process. Strengthen me, O God, and grant me Your grace, trusting in Your faithfulness. Protect me from all arrows of infirmity now and forever. Equip me with your full armor: the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the belt of truth, the sword of the Spirit, my feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace, and have me be clad with the cloak of zeal for You (Ephesians 6:10-18; Isaiah 59:17).

Thank You, Father God, for sending Your beloved Son to die on the cross for my sins. Thank You for Your resurrection power. Thank You, Lord, for I know that the plans that You have for me are plans of good and not of evil (Jer. 29:11). I thank You with my whole heart  (1 Thess 5:18). Thank You, Lord, that You hear the cry of Your children and You answer them. Thank You Lord, for You have listened to my distress and my prayers (Ps. 18:6; 2 Sam. 22:7; Ps. 120:1; Ps .118:5). Thank You Lord for whom the Son sets free is free indeed (John 8:36). Thank You Lord for You have not given me the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind  (2 Tim. 1:7)

Please, Lord, bless thee, and keep thee. Make Your face shine upon me, and be gracious unto me. Lord, lift up Your countenance upon me, and give me peace (Numbers 6:24-26). I pray this in the name of Jesus, the Precious Son and my Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
